Marcus, 01 Dec 2008to REXHA... ive been a long time sony-ericsson user and have just moved from my k800 to sam... moreSeem like when u buy high end phs, its down to ur luck. I bought N96 right after it was released in singapore and its worse than rubbish. ph hangs , slow, switch off when making video call, media player can't see mp3s from 16gb drive etc.. and problem are endless. I went down to nokia service center twice and flush firmware but probs still there. I sold that sh!t and now i m with omnia. Everything works great and it is fast, touch screen is gd and responsive, everything is just great and I dun need to use stylus. samsung UI is good enough. It never hangs or freeze within a month of my usage so far. screen resolution is ok and can compare with phs such as Nseries and sonyericsson cybershot phs, etc. ( I had those phs so i can say that). BUT dont go and compare with iph!!. There are two things that u have to consider when u buy omnia, 1) screen is very poor under direct sunlight . 2) battery life is just one day with moderate use. Do note that samsung phs always have poor batt life even though they claim similar amount of capacity with other brands. But to conclude, those two weaknesses dont bother me coz I dun play games or surf net under the sun and I charge every night b4 sleep. DONE.
Does anyone stuggle to hear the person on the other end of their Omnia? Does that person find it hard to hear you?

Marcus, 01 Dec 2008to REXHA...
ive been a long time sony-ericsson user and have just moved from my k800 to sam... moreyou have no idea what your talking about .
closing the programs is so easy all you have to do is go to settings and theres an option which says "close programs by hitting "X" . if you enable that then no problem. so me knowing that u dont know that option also tells me that you have no idea to configure the camera settings to MAX . other than that since you know so much about phones what do you reccommend ?
to REXHA...
ive been a long time sony-ericsson user and have just moved from my k800 to samsungs omnia. and all i can say is that im very disappointed.
the display has poor pixel density, only 65k colours, and is barely visible outside (in natural light).
the touch screen is very weak (low response). scolling/sliding through lists will often have you selecting items/apps that you didnt want. the close 'X' in the top right of the screen is small and difficult to hit (though you will get used to it).
the user interface is slow and buggy. many of your person settings (ie. default input method) will not be remembered after a "re-boot".
a lot of the basic customisations (mp3 sms and alarm alerts) require fiddling around with (locating files to specific directories).
the sms input is clunky and non-user friendly (you can only see 2 lines of your outgoing message at a time, predictive text isnt smart, wont learn your favourite words.
you will constantly have to open task manager/switcher and close your apps, because hitting the end key will not do this.
there are very few good games and applications availavle (thats not to say there wont be more coming out).
5MP camera has poor performance indoors and in low light.
phonebook is sturctured sirname first. and if you want to customise this setting, you must do it contact by contact.
there are some good features of this phone. you can mute incoming call alerts and alarm tones by turning the phone screen-down. and the smart reader is quite good.
all in all.... i recommend you stay away from this phone, unless you feel you can put up with or fix its many faults.
NESS, 30 Nov 2008I'm a user of Nokia N95 and also a bit Fan of Nokia, but I decided to Buy a Samsung Omnia and ... moreDear Ness,
Personally I prefer the Nokia E71 because I don't like Windows Mobile 6.1. At the moment I have an Omnia but I'm to dependent of a touch screen only. Also I miss a build-in stylus and, as said, I don't like WM; to complicated and slowww. Symbian is much faster and easier to use.
My choice will be the Nokia E71 because it has a full QWERTY-keyboard. Software is NO problem at all! By the way, the E71 is also cheaper that the Omnia!
So my advice is to stay at Nokia. I hope you will make the right choice and will enjoy your new phone for a long time!
Best regards, Jason.
Anonymous, 30 Nov 2008xperia is better than omnia especially the x1 battery s better 2x than the battery of omniaFirst off get your facts right the samsung omnia i900 has a 1440 mah battery life and the xperia has 1500 mah. thats not much of a difference so dont say 2X more battery life
Curious, 30 Nov 2008Hey all Omnia users, Just wondering if the screen and the overall body scratches easily. Also,... morethe phone is very reliable. It doesnt get scratches very easily. Like me i keep my phone in my pocket where i have keys and change and still not one sratch on the screen. Its made out of plastic but touch screen plastic. its going to resemble the same type of screen material as the coming up htc touch hd. or if you want get the phone and then go to invisibleshield.com which has plastic covers for the front and back for just $10 you cant go wrong.

I'm a user of Nokia N95 and also a bit Fan of Nokia, but I decided to Buy a Samsung Omnia and to make a difference in my life, because i was bored of using Nokia, Nokia,Nokia everytime and by the way also SYMBIAN OS.. that's why I decided to buy an Omnia, but now a days I start to think that SYmbian is better than Windows Mobile and any other OS, it's clear, fast and easy to use... so I'm so confused and also not sure that do I have to buy an Omnia or not!!!
Any Idea?? you'r welcome :)
Thanks :)
