Hi and respect to all of you.
I got some questions coz i am really looking to buy this phone. I would really appreciate if you can help me.
I am pretty sure the phone specs are great but I never used a fully touchscreen phone before(current one is SE p1i), so
1-how does the Omnia perform in daily task such as writting sms, emails etc fast. Is the digital keyboard OK or is it a hassle to use sometimes??
2-How is the handwritting recognition??
3-Is the visibility OK in direct sunlight?
4-Do you magnify picture/web page the same way you do on the Iphone(i.e using two fingers)
5-Can you use all aplications and browse webpage with your finger only, or are you compel to use the stylus in some cases?? ( P1i users will know what a hassle this may be)
6-How user-friendly is the trackpad?? (i have very oily n damp hands, and i believe this mightt be useful)

Samsung i900 Omnia is one of the best windows mobile phones...
it's really amazing !!

To save - you would have to manually move the file onto the card memory - normally drag and paste works. I have the same problem - if only I knew how to move the default memory to being the memory card - this will save on the hassles.

i brought my OMNIA about 3 weeks ago.. i can't figure out how too bluetooth (songs) from my laptop onto my phone.. it connects and sends, but 98% of the time it will eventually s ay "not enough memory"

i have this phone since aug (abt 2mths)
and i have got several comments abt it
Sry if this sounds like a complaint session but wld like people who are eyeing this phone to take note of it (for all it matters, it may juz b my phone -.- )
1. Single connector for everything: Power, Handsfree and connection to the computer.
Why i dun like this: I can't listen to music when i am charging my phone
2. Camera
Why i like this: Images CAN be really really sharp. I have some shots that my frens and myself were wowed by the quality.
Why i dun like this:
(i) Phones with camera allow you to take unglam shots of ur frens (:p) that happen spontaneously. If occasionally ur phone doesnt allow u to use the camera function due to insufficient memory, it can get on ur nerves sometimes.
(ii) Shots can turn out blur sometimes, but i guess you cant really expect it to be as gd as a dSLR. Good attempt on the quality.
3. Music & 3.5mm audio jack
Why i like this:
(i)There's an inbuilt FM receiver, great for tuning in to live radio :). I like the software for this too, easy to use.
(ii) There's a 3.5mm jack, which is great, as i can use my own Sennheiser ear buds from my spoilt MP3 player.
Why i dun like this:
(i) Quality is not as good as my Creative Nano Plus, which this phone was supposed to replace. Quality on the louder and higher pitched notes are not clear.
(ii) The 3.5mm jack is on the handsfree. The handsfree cable is abt 1m long. If u r using ur own earphone do note that its gonna b v v v long. My earbuds are like slightly longer than 1m. Its great if u want to listen to music with ur phone across the rm. But v troublesome to have like excess 1.5m of cable dangling down ur neck walking down the street. Personally i find this a v v v big turn-off. It is also v irritating to keep and use this 2+m handsfree+earphone cable without getting it entangled. I think Nokia's idea of putting the 3.5mm jack on top of the phone is more user friendly.
(iii) Software does not support too many formats. And sometimes the streaming player does not work (mayb due to my wifi). I find it easier to use Coreplayer instead.
4. WiFi and Internet
Why i like this: It is really convenient to check ur mail, surf the net on the go. One of the big factors why i got this phone. :)
Why i dun like this:
(i)The wifi adapter is not v sensitive (may not b that fair as i compare this with my fren's notebook).
(ii) Rich contents such as flash may not show. Perhaps software updates may solve this.
(iii) You have to clear ur cache v often, otherwise u find ur memory v limited, preventing you from opening other programmes or receiving sms (adding an 8gb microSD does not help - if someone noes how to mod the settings, pls let me noe).
(iv) It is a big chore to double tap to zoom in/out. I think apple's multitouch is v appealing.
(v) The touchpad is not that sensitive , so you may end up pressing on links you do not want to go.
5. Battery
Why i like this: Battery life i would say is still acceptable. I have to charge it once every 3-4 days. I use my phone mainly to listen to music and for sms.
Why i dun like this:
(i) I have to carry my charger arnd because some functions really drain ur batt, such as wifi and calls. Do try to switch off ur screen, i tink this wld help increase battery life.
(ii) When battery is low, nothing works. This is can be utterly frustrating. Although your device is on, ur phone function is switched off. Personally i feel this is pretty daft. Imagine you are caught in an emergency and need to make a call urgently. Your phone is on but low on battery. It's as if its sniggering at you, being on yet not allowing you to do anything at all.
6. Accelerometer
Why i like this: It is a cool function to see ur screen rotate.
Why i dun like this:
(i) Its too sensitive. You'll end up spending more time trying to get it back to ur desired orientation. I got fed up after a wk, i switched it off. Its now permanently portrait.
7. Hardware in general:
Why i like this:
(i) It is aesthetically pleasing. Personally, I would say it challenges the iPhone (though i'm sure many wld beg to defer).
Why i dun like this:
(i) My phone's speaker is dead. Note i have only gotten my phone in aug(ie

there are a few of them. eg, settings / phone / security and settings / lock etc

cel, 23 Nov 2008I have a problem using this samsung omnia. I switch off all the application already but it sti... morego to "task manager" and end task all applications running except task manager. By doing so you will free up the your phone memory and your other applications will open
