I find that the battery life just does not last, what is also irritating is that the live connection to the internet goes on by itself, i need to find a way to stop that, i mean my airtime.
I have had the phone for 4 days now, and I have to say that it is the best WinMo handset I have ever used. It is much quicker than my Orbit. People have complained about screen sensitivity, you just have to calibrate the screen correctly. With this done it is extremely accurate. The Camera is exceptional for a WinMo handset 5 MP wtf!!
It took some time to set up exactly how I like it but now everything is where I want it to be not where some designer thought it should go. The people who complain about this phone have never used a WinMo phone before and it just takes too long for some of them to get used to. The ones that have used WinMo before can't go back to a normal phone.
Very pleased Omnia owner
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hi, If you have to choose between tose two phones (Samsung Omnia and HTC diamont), choose the Omnia! But really shure you want a phone with Windows!!! I don't like it and will buy a Nokia E71.
Darn screen keeps going blank... All the buttons and even the touch screen works but with a blank screen!!!
I have had 100% trouble with all the Samsung handsets I have ever had... Get an iPhone!!!!!!!!!
can any 1 tell me how to get a free garmin for my mobile ??
I love Samsung phones and waited for months to get the Omnia. What a disappointment! sure this is the best looking, most feature packed phone on the market but Samsung's software with Vodafones branded software on top of WinMo means endless problems. Patch released for Smtp issue does not seem to be reliable, so after 10 weeks I have to ditch the phone. I would say to anyone thinking of getting one, really think if you will use the features, check the complicated camera, test in your market that it will do the basic stuff that you need, and note with the stylus it is a fiddly bit of kit. Do you need a phone with add ons or a device which purports to be all things yet falls a bit short on key functions. Don't be drawn in by the glamour look at the functions
I've just been given the Omnia, but it did not have a manual in the box. Where can I get a hold of one? I've never used a WinMo phone and I'm struggling like mad?

If you read the 'whole 9 yards' review for this phone on this site, at the end (about page 7 or 8) they explain about getting you tube on the phone.

trudene, 15 Nov 2008Hi Karishma, i just want to know did you get feed back about the Nokia E71 compare to the sams... moreDear Trudene,
Also I am thinking of buying a Nokia E71. At the moment I have a Omnia. Great phone, but not for me personally. I miss a build-in stylus, handwriting recognition, etc. I am a bit to much dependent on the touch screen. Using a telephone card to call abroad is not easy. Also I do not like the software (Windows mobile 6.1). It is not really handy to work with. Big advantage is that you can find tons of software applications.
So again there is NOTHING wrong with the Omnia, but personally I prefer an other type of phone., e.g. the Nokia E71. I think I will buy it next week.
