hasan, 06 Oct 2008is there any problem with screen resolution in runing softwares? or is there any 240x400 soft... moreThe application will adjust its screen to fit in Omnia while preserving the proportion. No problem here. You can try Windows Mobile emulator to test it :)

lets face it ive used both the omnia and the i-phone

the differences= the omnia has better software and better for users who have a brain and can customize their phone to how they want it

i-phone- stunning looking no one can take that away from it, brill interface but when you look at the essentials the phone lacks a lot of the omnia's class.

the omnia is probably the best all round phone on the market with the i-phone about 4th

the only reason the i-phone is so succesful is because people have been mis led by the brilliant advertising by apple.

Anonymous, 07 Oct 2008google maps is a web based application, so yes it will use gprs or what ever connection it can... moreHi anonymous..and everyone.

                                    "Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support"(quoted from omnia's spec).

What does it mean ? I think :
                                    1. It means you have to connect ur Omnia to other GPS Receiver using either bluetooth, com port, etc..
It means also "THERE IS NO BUILT IN GPS RECEIVER" inside our Omnia. Omnia only acts as interface at this point.

                                    2. Or, u can use "network"(not direct from satellite) so ur application software (garmin, mapking, etc..)works. For this point, u'll be charged for the using of either GPRS or 3G.

Conclusion : If u have phone with built in GPS receiver inside, u won't be charged any cent coz the phone receive signal directly from satellite(such as MWG atom V, HTC Touch Pro, etc. I myself sell my atom V and buy this omnia. I tried atom v for its GPS function. It worked very well and of course NO CHARGE !! But the problem with atom v, it works too slow.

In Omnia, this is not about software or GPS application software, but this is about "THERE IS NO GPS CHIPSET INSIDE".(this is answer to kernownelly).

Finally, what i still don't understand is :
Why there is "Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support" statement ???

It should be "Fake built-in GPS receiver bla..bla.." or "Navigation using A-GPS Support" or "Artifical GPS Receiver bla..bla..". The bottom line is, do not use "Built-in GPS receiver" words. Coz "Built-in GPS receiver" means, the device can DIRECTLY RECEIVE signal from GPS Satellite.

In my opinion, Omnia is still too expensive for a phone with no "Built-in GPS Receiver".

Sugesstion : If u wanna buy phone with real GPS function, the spec must be :
                                    1. GPS Receiver Chipset stated (such as SIRF STAR III, etc..)
                                    2. No "A-GPS" or "A-GPS Support" words.

Finally, i will sell my Omnia and get Touch Flo Pro.

                                    Hope my explaination helps.
