Imran, 17 Sep 2008Hello everyone,
I got my Omnia. I have some questions. Please someone answer.
1. How can... more1. don't know
2. google maps needs internet to load the maps. If ou choose to install tomtom for example, then no, no need to because the maps are on your Omnia.
Does anyone know how to do a hard reset externally without going into the menu screen software. The phone freezes at green screen windows mobile 6.1 when re booted. With HTC units, ie 838 pro, one could hold down the top two buttons on the navigation centre button and press reset button simultaneously. Can we do this with the Omnia or a similiar function available?
I got my Omnia. I have some questions. Please someone answer.
1. How can we turn off 3G.
2. Do we need internet for GPS or not? When I opened google maps it connects to internet.
Thanks in advance.
This looks great, but for goodness sake WHY the proprietary USB port? Agh! For that reason alone I'm not buying it. Imagine you're at someone's house and need to charge up or share some files. They have standard USB cables everywhere but you're stuck if you don't have your own with you. And they'll cost £20 in the highstreet if you lose it. No way! I'm sick of proprietary cables that get lost, broken or simply aren't there when you need them. Standards are there for a very good reason.

The Omnia is the phone for me and that is it, period. My girlfriend has got the iPhone 3G and I use it all the time and it is a lovely phone, but there limitations I can't live with, like the 2MP camera, no BT, etc. Surely, there must be an iPhone forum on GSMarena where iPhone lovers can go to post their views or I my missing somthing.

Karin, 16 Sep 2008How can I "convert" my itunes songs ready for the Omnia ?i900 supports mp3 format so y do u need to convert the songs to mp4/aac?
Please make Omnia with higher resolution screen like HTC Tough HD or SE X1.
for you out there, on its class, it has the biggest proccessor,624 mhz,so as of now it's the best,if you knew how to use its functions, all the HTC phones and others have only 528mhz.
Settings for tmobile USA are
Add a new modem connection
Name for a new connection: T-Mobile Internet
Select A Modem: Cellular Line GPRS
Acces point name : internet3.voicestream.com
No User name, no password, no domain.
And thats it, if you have the data plan is gonna work just great.

Paul, 16 Sep 2008For all those users that know the Omnia is better than the Iphone apart from the user interfac... moreThe iphone is not just better than the omnia on UI, music player and web browser, but on other important qualities as well. Like screen resolution, bigger screen, internal memory, scratchproof glass display, 3.5mm jack, better built, better outdoor display visibility, and more. Those advantages matter a lot on a phone versus megapixels, lol. Like I would stop using my canon because i have a 5mp omnia. I don't think so.
mark , 16 Sep 2008does it only have use of qwerty keyboard for textno there is a variety of choices from samsung, including a regular mobile pad, and the defult windows keyboards.
iPhone Sucks, 16 Sep 2008I don't know what circles you run in, but I know many many people with 7,000+ songs, and there... moreI'm in the circle of realistic people. 7000 songs would equal to around 200 days of nonstop playing of songs. I don't even think that there's a memory card for phones that could accomodate that, and even if there is, it's just ridiculous. I would consider that number of songs in someone's pc, but not on their phones or ipods. And you make it sound like people have been storing 7,000 songs in their phones in the past 10 years, lol. I remember last year that consumers were just hoping that their phones can accomodate an 8gb memory card, the iphone has up to 16gb, and you think that's laughable, lol. Phones are not meant to be used as external hard drives. Show me an official census that mp3 owners actually have 7000+ songs in their players. Phone memory for music and videos is for on the go purposes, not for permanent storage ,lol. Get a pc you cheapo.
Anonymous, 16 Sep 2008Got the phone today and i really hate the phone they have really over complicated the handset ... moreOver complicated the handset with the menus??? Did you do any research on the phone like YouTube where there are hundreds of video reviews, or did you just buy the phone on a whim??? What did you use before? If you are use to using a Samsung phone then Nokia’s menus are complicated & vise versa, you just have to use for a few weeks to get use to them.
