Let's put it this way people.
The iphone is like a base model of BMW. Not a lot of features but drives magnificently & very comfortable & quiet. The Omnia would be a Kia, but packed advanced features like a navigation system, back up camera, parking sensors, 19 inch chrome wheels, power seats, has a microwave oven, and a washing machine and dryer in the trunk, and much, much more.
Now, which car would you rather drive? =)

So don't put words in my mouth. When you say essential, that would mean that the device will not work w/out that feature. Not being able to forward sms will not make the phone inoperable. So it is not essential. Not having a keypad is a problem. BT file transfers is nice to have, but not essential. I can email. Basic features would be a screen that is legible in the dark and under the sunlight. Omnia does not even have that. Basic is also a UI that works smoothly, and I've heard that the Omnia also suffers from that. What's basic is a touchscreen that is responsive, and the Omnia is not that responsive either. Now those are the basics among all the basics. What good are all those features when you get frustrated using them because of lag time, unsresponsiveness and crash issues? What? You said "if i want to forward my work stuff to my work people i shld mail them and wait till they go hme and check their mail" Don't you have a PC at work? LOL. And why are you using cellphones at work to send files? LOL. You must be from a developing 3rd world country. Well, the iphone is not really for third world countries. Sorry if I have offended you, but it's true. We in the US do not use our cellphones to transfer files because we have PC's at work, not typewriters. And it is annoying for us iphone users to see 3rd world people hating the iphone because it does not serve their needs. So what if iphone uses Samsung processors? As long as it works fine. At least Apple uses it right. Samsung could not even use their processors to work smoothly on their touch UI. So did Samsung come up with multi-touch since Apple gets their processors from Samsung? Having more features does not mean more advanced. I'd still prefer a base model BMW, than a Kia with navigation system.

would b a half decent samsung phone if was as wide as iphone very poor immatation and i dont even like iphone! My mate got this and screen quality is poor camera very poor and sound quality very very poor! But to samsung fans this will prob be there version of nokia n70!

Yes I know Samsung has a promotion at the Millionaire fair next week, I wrote that so time ago. But you can hear such conflicting messages in shops. That was the reason I wrote this message. Between next week and the third week of September the phone will be available.
Of course I would like it to be available next week, if not then I will wait patiently.

The iphone looks stylis and fun, easy to use but lacks a f... moreI have both and i think the iphone is a cool phone that works well, very responsive....however their will come a time when you will want to send mms or send pics by bluetooth but you can't because the smart people at apple has'nt added them standered features to the iphone.Also you can't just add music and pics you may want to put on the iphone, you have to add music and pics by itunes software, which is a big pain.
If you dont mind the lack of features and just want a good mp3 player thats also a phone, then iphone is best option but if you want your moneys worth then samsung omnia all the way.

No offence but did you read that the minimum quantity you can order is 20 units?
it's not that cheap and it sounds dodgy, some chinese fakes look genuine to begin with, if it's faulty and you paid for it in a shop you can return it or at least have some kind of rights, if you buy of internet go and chase ghosts to get your money back.

The Omnia has every feature you could ever want.. although doesn't really look fun to use and looks somewhat boring..

Can you imagine if the iphone, with it's amazing UI, decided to pack the iphone with all the features like 10mp camera, 30fps video recording, MMS, copy & paste, text forwarding, and all? Would there still be Samsung, Nokia & SE buyers? So yes, be thankful that the iphone still gave room for competition, because if the iphone went all out, Samsung, Nokia and SE would already be at the verge of bankcruptcy like Moto is. If not, they would only be catering to low budget phones. Consider this, even with the iphone's lack of features, it has still created a major stir in the mobile phone industry, and even steered the phone market to evolve to touchscreen technology, how much more if Apple decided to pack the iphone with all of those features. So be thankful Samsung fans."
Hey, imagine iphone with the above feature will cost how much?? Please use your common sense.. not sure will they be able to sell to you as a good price?
Omnia in another word is actually value for money..True you wont be taking photo with omnia in special occasion but the camera itself is an added feature since its a 5MP camera..
Why compare omnia with iphone and not other phone is because you only compare apple with apple and not compare apple with other stuff right? because omnia and iphone are all pda phone..thats why theres comparism with HTC diamond too.. its unfair to make comparism with nokia or sony ericsson normal phone right?

omnia is available as of 18 august 2008 in phones4u stores so hurry if u wanna be 1of the first people to have that phone as they are selling fast!!!

UK- Went to an orange retail shop to upgrade and they wanted £100! So I went home and phoned Orange who kindly gave me the Omnia for free. Also gave me a £5 reduction on line rental!

Im about to upgrade my mobile (made the mistake of getting an N95 on an 18thmonth contract sooo desperate to get rid of it) on orange and im torn between this phone and the Blackberry Bold.
When it comes to functionality both have far more than i would ever need although again i have to bare in mind that i will have this for 18months...
So anyway got any reasons why i should go for one over the other?
