Tom Taylor, 23 Aug 2008I got the 16GB version from Orange for free on Wednesday 20th August. Its an 18month contract ... moreI thought you just said that it keeps on crashing and that you have to turn it off and then on again to get it working, even had to take the batteries out at times. So how does that kick the iphone's butt? And oh, didn't you say that you have to look for the firmware upgrade yourself to get some bugs fixed? LOL. That's ridiculous. With the iphone, you get a text message from Apple and AT&T when a necessary upgrade is available to improve the iphone's performance. So I guess it's the iphone that kicks all the other phones' butts =)

I got the 16GB version from Orange for free on Wednesday 20th August. Its an 18month contract with unlimited data and texts (fair usage policy but who cares - orange dont), 1500 xnet anytime mins and all for a jaw dropping £37.50 per month!!!!
Some of the contact software keeps crashing though, and it somehow powers down completley and you have to turn the device off and back on (or even take the battery out!)
Saying that it is a fantastic piece of kit, the first revision of public firmware when released should solve all these problems (or you can hack it to load the latest singapore firmware to fix it!)
The Samsung i900 kicks Apple and HTC in the balls thats for sure!!! ;)

Cijo, 22 Aug 2008Things you cannot do with apple iphone: 1)No video recording 2)No copy & paste option 3)No ... moreHere's my take on your post regarding things you cannot do with the iphone.

1)No video recording.

That's alright, I take videos using my canon camera. It's much better than any camera phones. Believe me, I used to have the N95, and it was fun using its camera in taking videos for a short while, then you realize that you don't really need it. I still ended up using my Canon SD to take videos.

2)No copy & paste option.

Yes, this one would be nice to have, but can do without it just fine. Future upgrades would fix this issue for sure.

3)No flash or optical zoom and only 2mp camera.

Same as #1, I'd rather use my Canon camera, because even with a xenon flash, a camera phone is still not as good as my Canon in taking pictures. And on a good lighting condition, the iphone takes good pictures just like any other camera phones.

4)Cannot forward a text message(sms)- you need to email it.

That's ok, email is free, while you have to pay every time you send a text message.

5)No bulk message. If you need to wish 10 people foe X'mas, send it 10 times.

You are wrong, iphone 3g can send text messages to multiple recipients. Check again buddy.

6)No MMS.

Who wants to pay for every MMS you send when you can email pics via your iphone for FREE.

7)No voice dialing.

Where's the fun in that? Touchscreen dialing is much more fun. Why do you think we bought the iphone for? So we can't use its touchscreen and use voice dialing? LOL. Think.

8)No multi-select option.(you cant delete more than one e mail or photos at a time).

You can mark multiple emails and delete them all at the same time, so again, you are wrong. As for pics, it's not a hassle at all in deleting them 1 by 1, it's fun with the iphone. But I do understand your frustration if you are using unresponsive phones, but the iphone isnt' like that. It's fun to use.

9)You cant replace the battery.

This would be a problem if you replace your batter every week. Or if your sim card is underneath the battery. That is not the case with the iphone.

10)No support for wireless modem.

Wireless or USB you still need your phone close enough to your PC or laptop. Also, laptops have wifi, so it would be rare to none that someone would use this feature.

11) Can't sync with Bluetooth stereo or in-car Bluetooth handsfree. It lacks A2DP on Bluetooth. You cant even send the photo you have taken unless you activate GPRS.

And why would I need to synch my phone to my car when I already have a bluetooth headset. Wired headsets will always have better audio quality than the wireless ones in listening to music. As for photos, I can send it by email which is much more convenient than BT.

12)You cannot share MP3, images and video files via Bluetooth.

Sorry, but I primarily bought my iphone for my use and pleasure, it is not my obligation to provide others w/ my music, images, and videos. Get your own files. I have better things to do than sit next to you just so I could transfer files via BT because you can't afford to buy your own, or too lazy to download from limewire. Better yet, I can email those files to you on my spare time.

13)No ringtone customisation

The iphone's ringtones are fine. There are other more fun things to do with the iphone than customizing ringtones, lol. Gosh, that is so Nokia.
