Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Dear kaka,

I don't know the price yet, but it will help others if you asked in what currency you want to know the price. €, £, ¥, AFN, AFN, DZD, AOA, BOB, XDF, ANG, IRR, IQD, NRP, VUV, KPW, peso’s, etc., etc., etc.

"The Omnia proved rather fast in the Write operation (copying from PC to handset) but was some 30% slower in Read (copying from handset to PC)"

* PC to handset -> 3.9 MB/s (write)
* Handset to PC -> 5.2MB/s (read)

Something is wrong here...

Oszieuk, 03 Aug 2008When will someone give us a release date for this phone in the UK. All the phone shops deny it... moreA previous post said to call Samsung which I did and they said week 33 which is 18 August. However, as Peter is suggesting a week later. I can't believe it can viably be much later otherwise people, me included will buy another brand. I think what is happening is that after the manufacturers "release" the phone for sale, the networks test them, guage the reactions to the phone then work out what for them is the optimum price. When all that is done, and they arrange distribution to the stores, we then get our hands on the product. Do we all (or even majority) think it would be better if we were given one, clear date of availability and they kept to that save endless speculation and disappointment? Probably save multiple calls to the networks as well.

Yeah, but that confuses me a bit.
Why mention the 256K in the first place when only 65K will work?

numei, 03 Aug 2008my english is bad but what does flight mode mean exactly? does it make the phone fly?Dear Nimei,

About Flight modus, to be more exact:

Flight mode blocks some functions from the GMS that could be dangerous because of bands / signals (calling signals). These functions could be e.g. the call function, Bluetooth of Internet connection. Other functions as MP3, playing games, etc. are still possible. In this way specific functions can be used on places where the use of GMS (radio contact)is not allowed, such as a hospital or an airplane.
So it ALSO involves the Internet or FM radio, everything that is brought to via GSM bands / signals.

I owen the HTC Diamond now for over 2 months. It is a nice small palstice phoen which get hot after using it for about 5 minutes or so. It is also not easy to use the touch screen since it is too small. and if try to view the office applications then too small to read. It's battery life not good too. I saw the Samsung Omnia yesterday and it is look like IPHONe with more application capabilites. it looks great and easy to use the touch screen on it with it's size. I will trad my HTC Diamond with Samsung today.

numei, 03 Aug 2008my english is bad but what does flight mode mean exactly? does it make the phone fly?Oh my, that question of yours is surely "surprising" *wink. Flight mode does NOT cause the phone to fly (remember this is a phone not a plane) but it will "switch off" its ability to call or sms. However, the phone would still stay on so you can still listen to music, browse your pictures and stuff, anything your phone can do beside making calls or sms.
