Out of pure curiousity iv just compaired the i900 to the dreaded iphone, i have to say i dont know why anyone even debates it, based on stats the iphone sucks bigtime. if the two where in a room i would make the person with the iphone put it away so as not to offend the sweet sweet i900.

Does this Samsung comes with audio jack? Can I watch YouTube videos? The GPS comes with worldwide maps or only for a few cities? Is it only available in Europe, only for Asia or the States?
jan, 29 Jun 2008New Omnia owners, pls verify its VIDEO recording capabilities-resolution & fps of the omnia,32... moreHaving reviewed the phone last 3 days, despite the hype, it is not too big a deal, if u r already a windows mobile user. While samsung redesign most GUI for apps, WM6 interface still domintes 70% of apps, and it's not thumbs or finger friendly. You will definitely miss the stylus a lot, to the point of frustration.
The apps and shortcuts are better off with other 3rd party, like netfront over opera, pocket toolman, Mapking over Navfone, and network plug-in (to browse your PC on your fone). Also try HTC Home 1.0, and HTCHome Customiser, HTC Task Manager, H-Button, iFonz, TCPMP, HTC Audio Manager/Player, HTCAlbum, HTC ActionScreen. These plug-ins are free downloadable, and can hep you work real fast (if you are a power user). TouchWiz has nothing exciting compared to TouchFlo/3D or iPhone. Yes, most of these plug-ins are HTC-designed apps & interfaces. (bt well u need not have HTC devices, any WM works). Kudos to HTC for good human interface research work.
As a video/photo user, the stills are acceptably good. LED flash is ok with me, as I needed the torchlight function a greta deal (not possible with Xenon flash).
The video is 640 x 480 max, .mp4 format, 8Mb per min, 10 fps, fixed focus (1m). Yes, it has zoom (digital, in jerky steps), and pause while recording. Camera modes,functionalities and menus, settings good and easily accessible. Inaccessible mSD is a minus for sharing/ transfering files to friends' mobile, 3G/16GB/TVout is a plus. I'm happy going back to my HTC Touch, unless you are the sort who craves the attention from friends, to flock to you to explore/ask questions about your new phone, then this is for you,(human social nature), i.e.when you are the first adopters (Asia), proud that for once 1st time, a new phone is launched in Asia, Singapore, b4 US/Europe. (no comments on Diamond, no mSd is a big minus for me)
On the whole, Samsung has stamped its presence in the ranks of WMphone players, by packing all features,and having a good start. I will still be waiting for one with i900 features + DVB-T and FM transmitter, and infra-red (pity it is omitted these days, to remote control my TV/DVD/Aircon. And yes, screen projector function (available now, but will be another 4-5 years, when battery technology catches up).
I got my set =)
See : http://plwh888.livejournal.com/662036.html
I activated the Exchange Pushmail service and the device get very hot, by morning the phone battery flat out. I have to deactivate it and now use it as a normal phone.
Let's see how it goes for the next few days.
The camera comes with FACE and SMILE FOCUS.
The release date for this one is still showing as end June, which is already gone. I checked at SupereTrader website in UK, and they are saying August now. Any official news on this?
@joy,
Yes. It got the new Opera Mobile 9.5 browser installed, ensuring best possible internet experience (equal to iPhone but with more features)
