Just my view.
No matter how many color a LCD can support up to, until today mobile graphic engine can only support a display of up to 65K color, so if your output is 65K how many color your LCD support it is still displaying at 65K. please correct me if i'm wrong the popular mobile graphic chip used is nvidia.
Only Japan NTT DOCOMO phone has special enhance chip build in mobile devices example Sharp graphic engine Sony bravio engine or panasonic engine who claim able to output true 16m color.
no matter what it is as long as its beautiful for my eye it fine.
i got a OMNIA leaflet from Communiasia 2008 and it state 262K. maybe samsung made a mistake or what.

***Please STOP saying it has 65k colours***

This screen is beautiful - gorgeous, amazingly sharp and it look stunning. And, it has 252k colours, which is more than enough for your eyeballs on this size of a screen.

Unless you are direcly comparing close ups of test gradients, YOUR EYES WILL NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE between 256k colours and 16M colours at this resolution. At all. There is NO difference.

Technological ignorance like this is the reason that idiots say "wow 5MP camera? awesome!!" Megapixels has nothing to do with picture quality.

skyskyblue, 22 Jun 2008Hi, I am keen in getting either Samsung I900 or HTC Diamond but still hesitating on which to t... moreI HAD the HTC Diamond for a short while, but I don't like this phone. It is a big hype!!!
It looks nice, but I don't like the way it works. I will wait for the Samsung i900. I expect this phone will be a better choice for me because it looks more like a PDA.
***** HTC Touch Diamond *****
Here is a short description I wrote about the HTC Touch Diamond: Sorry to say, but I am not impressed by this phone. It looks very nice and is not really big. But it is rather slow. Tapping the right icon/button is also not that easy in the beginning, but maybe that will improve in time. Furthermore I think the screen is small and operation could be easier (but that may be a personal thing). What is very keen is the magnetic stylus, simple but effective! I haven't tested the camera, so I cannot say nothing about that. MP3 quality is also not very good. The question is if 4 GB memory will be enough? GPS TOM TOM will take about 1GB already. Some extra programs, videos and music and you will have a lack of memory. Letter recognition is not possible in all languages.
HTC Touch Diamond is a hype! Well done by HCT, etc. But I think I will wait for the Samsung i900. I expect this will be a better choice.

Yes it can browse the internet. lrn2read specs, Applenoobs.

GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps
EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps
3G HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11b/g

It most likely has the shitty Pocket IE though.

This phone is pretty cool, considering that I'm an iPhone user. I see that a lot of people are still comparing the iPhone to the omnia. However, you guys have to remember that not every phone can be the same, or else the word competition wouldnt exist and everything made would be redonded. Apple always strives for graphics and simplicity, for users who like to have an easy life using their mac for art or whatever else they can do. On the other hand, microsoft aims towards business people; people who like complexity and not graphic like interfaces. But then again, its just my opinion about the subject.
By the way guys, since windows lets you install 3rd party apps (of course) you might want to check out/ google skyfire. So far its in private beta, but considering what it will be able to do, the wait is worth it. With that in hand you might want to to for this phone.

Does anyone know if this can display Youtube videos? And I don't mean the small amount you get from the iPhone, I mean all of them, including ones that will uploaded later on. Basically can you go to the site and search videos like you would on a computer?
