going to pass on this one,, 4.3 Super AMOLED Plus display? and yet the same 480x800 as the 1st gen galaxy s,, that means the ppi (pixels per inch) will be LESS, so will the display be less sharp than the sgs1?
phonatic21, 15 Feb 2011could anyone please tell me whether or not its front camera could be used for video call over ... morethe SG1 has a VGA 0.3 mp front facing camera for video calls, the SG2 has a 2.0Mp camera which I am 99%certain as reported more than once is also for video calls, so yes. Also @ anonymous and "anandtech" SGII is 16GB onboard memory & quadband HSPA and 118g(helium filled?) the 2x is 8gb and dual band and 139g
@Sepehr well there is gonna be a whole heap of garbage eaters
@insomnia if u r right the SG2 didn't know when to stop copying. 5Mp camera whoa stop ok 8mp
800 Mhx whoa stop 1Gb
@S2 i can't get my mind around these specs, let alone what if anything will surpass it in the near future.
listen it boils down to this
ALL THIS AT 118G HOW ?? NOTHING IS OUT THERE THIS LIGHT.
So, just to make sure. This is using the Tegra CPU, right ?
What do you think, is the LG Optimus 3D's performance essentially better, or is the difference negligeble compared to this phone ?
Alex, 15 Feb 2011nice phone overall, BUT would if kill them if they would have put HDMI?!...damn...really Samsu... morewhy would they put hdmi when there is DLNA? samsung is going forward not backwards. Upgrade your TV or buy an DLNA adapter. Even better, buy an older phone to go with your old tv.
Sepehr, 15 Feb 2011Galaxy S II wihout HDMI = Garbage I'm so sorry for Samsung ......and why do you need HDMI on the phone?
in anandtech the benchmark shows that in some points the LG Optimus 2x has an adv. but i think this one is much reliable
could anyone please tell me whether or not its front camera could be used for video call over 3g network or is it something next to useless video chat camera like xperia's and iphone's...? thank you.
im using the galaxy s and i had problems with samsung's support. they suck at releasing updates. but they make good hardware though.
insomnia, 15 Feb 2011The first Galaxy S - was copying iPhone 3GS design (as iPhone 4 was not out). Now I see Galaxy... moreI'll admit; the minimalist design iPhones have always had are really nice. Yet, I applaud Samsung for what they've done.
They have copied what already is a beautiful design, yet have created a smartphone so powerful, so compatible, so packed with features, yet so user-friendly, that the only thing iPhones have going for them are a really nice design.
Samsung are now the first to create a phone that excels in both looks and specs.
Well done Samsung!
GS II have Mobile High-definition Link . means u can use HDMI via microUSB port .
Sammy is clever !
Alex, 15 Feb 2011nice phone overall, BUT would if kill them if they would have put HDMI?!...damn...really Samsu... moreNo need for cables with DLNA support ... I use it on i8910 and it is much cooler.
Alex, 15 Feb 2011nice phone overall, BUT would if kill them if they would have put HDMI?!...damn...really Samsu... moredesign is so thin, that they couldn't even put microusb or 3.5mm jack, indeed,i really prefer DLNA against HDMI!
YES!! This will be my first ever android phone and first ever samsung phone. Can't wait!!
Btw for those who are spreading rumors about NO HDMI, this phone supports HDMI. You can get a mirco-usb to hdmi converter and it works like a charm. I have seen it on the first galaxy s.
Not a very good looking phone, kinda looks like a Iphone 4.
nice phone overall, BUT would if kill them if they would have put HDMI?!...damn...really Samsung, I swear I don't understand the reason why you didn't...I don't think it would have been much more heavy...it's the only reason I can think of...I guess we'll have to get along with this one eventually...
I am struggling with certain aspects of this phone as there appears to be no customer friendly User Guide. Please can anyone tell me when receiving and sending certain texts - what does the red triangle with a white exclamation mark in it mean? I initially thought this meant a text hadn't sucessfully sent but ocassionally it appears on received texts?
