i am sick and tired of waiting for the jelly bean update in india....
leave jelly bean aside, i am not even getting the latest ICS version which is 4.0.4
my firmware version is 4.0.3:-\
phone is not at all bad, its just that the slow updates are kind of pissing at times
the 4.0.3 version has many bugs....
Hi SGS2 Lovers
Yeah JB(4.1.2) update is rolling out from samsung updating SGS2 's region by region
In Sri Lanka, I received a 400MB Update on the 18-03-2013 to my SGS2.
Wham my SGS2 ICS (4.0.4) became JB(4.1.2)Initially I was terrified when the whole interface changed but few hours of playing around
I got my self familiar and experienced new features...!
Guys SGS2 is doing very well with the JB do not hesitate to update it and taste JB if you are in Sri Lanka.....
WHY Samsung not worldwide updating Jelly Bean for Galaxy s2 devices. All customers have purchased probably the same money and value. There are only some countries got 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It looks unfair. We suggest to Samsung to start the sale yours devices only in Korea then no more comments by internationally.

if you are planning to purchase the s2 now, you will get ICS or jelly bean depending on your region and also the date of manufacture of the phone. The phones which were manufactured during august,2012 have ICS loaded in it(in my region i.e. India). i had ICS out of the box:-D
the people who are saying that they have gingerbread might have purchased their phones in 2011 and have still not updated it to the latest version... :-X
i am waiting for jelly bean.....:-\

Finally i have the good handset.
guys dont think twice to buy a s2. I own this phone for about one year- no ANY isues at all! Running jelly bean ICS 4.0.4 and hoping to upgrade into JB. best phone I ever used. I used a 4s too but this is way better and fast as hell! S2 is a purchase worth every penny!

You dont need to wait for JB to be released in India, you can flash JB for some other county, it will work just fine in India. I'm from Croatia and I flashed Jelly Bean for Nordic countries with no problems...
BUT to be honest the GREY notification bar bothered me so much that i flashed back ICS... :-) So I went from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 to 4.0.4 within one day...
i wana buy this, but does it come with ICS from factory? (not update)
Hello! GS2 users, i'm a bit confused about the OS that GS2 comes with from the factory (not update). Some users said they bought it with ginger bread, while some said they bought the phone with ICS. Pls i want somebody to explain to me which of the OS (GB or ICS) does samsung GS2 comes with from factory. Thanks.. Keybo
Is it recommendable to upgrade it to 4.1? I've read opinions about it and those are divided between either "good" and "bad" opinions, since some people have encountered some battery issues after the update.
Anonymous, 20 Mar 2013Please update if that halped you... I have a question for you-I updated to Jelly Bean yesterd... more if you are upgrading from gingerbread to jelly bean then i am sure you will notice that difference because in ice cream sandwich the notification bar is GREY !!
you might not have had that chance of using ICS...
i am in india and own this phone since 6 months and i am desperately waiting for jelly bean.... god knows when will samsung push the update over here.....
how is the jelly bean update?? :-\
Samsung Galaxy S2 owner recently notified of an new update available for their phone. They chose yes of course and download began right away...2 and one half hours later phone rebooted to a great new screen and has not stopped popping up dialogue boxes each stating everything has stopped. They contacted Samsung USA who said this was an upgraded meant for US only phones...this one is a GT-I9100G which means it's an international phone, made in Germany. They went on to say this update is intended for US phones only is shutting down international phones. Phone now unrecoverable here in the US, or so says SAMSUNG support experts.
You would think that this update WRITTEN AND AUTHORED BY SAMSUNG would first verify IMEI and Model codes by default BUT THEY DIDN'T THINK OF IT....SAMSUNG SHOULD EXCHANGE PHONES OUT AT THEIR EXPENSE RIGHT AWAY THIS IS THEIR ERROR.
ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVE SAME PROBLEM...CONSIDERING A CLASS ACTION SUIT. This is too suspicious...a company as cutting edge as SAMSUNG omitting this by mistake???
If anyone facing galaxy s2 random shutdowns or sudden change in battery percentage or heating problem, check that your battery is bulged... If so, it's time to buy new one :-)
I want to buy one please tell its price in $ of used and tell me. Also tell me what to check in android phone before buying one.
