Actually many new comers didn't know the goodness of flagship phone. whatever OEM it might be.
It's always easy to get spare battery, spare back case, spare screen glass or even software support after two or three a years of launched.

My S2 is still operating on Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread). How do i upgrade it to icecream sandwich or jellybean??

Why does my phone shuts down. I have to take the battery out and replace it back to make it start again.
You need to learn more about Android, because Android thinks free ram is wasted ram, but you will never run out of ram because Android automatically close apps when you need more ram, and it is pointless to waste batterylife by closing apps manually because Android then just preloads some of the stock apps again so that no free ram is "wasted"!
