@Samantha, I know what you mean. Samsung don't seem to care much about replacing faulty hardware. Too bad really, the phones they make would've been really amazing - if only the lottery part could be avoided.
To everyone that owns a Samsung phone and has no problems: more power to you, and consider yourselves lucky. But don't go calling other people trolls just because you happen to have a healthy phone yourselves.
Yes battery life is good on 2.3.6 but phone use to hang a lot and on off by itself ....as i am using galaxy s2 and updates by phone twice t0 2.3.6 from samsung carecentre.....so they again updated it to previous version 2.3.3 now its working fine but battery life is poor as compared to 2.3.6 as i used both version....
Those who r facing please use Battery Bosster from Andriod Market and Juice Ultimate Defender……you will definitely will see some improvement.
This phone is great... on paper! Its quality control and hardware problems spoil a potentially brilliant device.
What has been done to solve the phone's faults, you may ask?
Marketing and Advertising campaigns devised to sell "white" versions, make fun of Apple fanboys and, ultimately, feed Samsung's own army of fans.
The Galaxy S2 has (many) battery problems, screen tinting (colour tinting issues) and a camera that shows a pink spot both on videos and photos.
That means the Galaxy S2 is a let down that is astonishingly pricey due to the price paid to advertisers and marketing agencies.
If only they had spent that kind of money on quality control...
Godsson, 20 Feb 2012U're are just being biased about the whole issue man! think about it sg2's got all d features ... moreClever ADvertising. That's all there is into it.
Both Samsung an Apple sell overpriced phones which could literaly be sold half the price.
Apple has brought nothing new in their latest releases: Making new from old seems to be the key to selling an image and making people pay for it.You're not actually payiong for a midrange phone, you're paying for your self-image...
Samsung have come up with the "Iphone Killer": basically a high-end hardware phone let down by many faults and poor quality control.
The result? You end up paying for a phone with screen problems, whose battery overheats.. OFTEN and with an unavoidable pink spot in every photo you take on a white background.
That means I had mine replaced... for no obvious benefit!
Latest software have tried to disguise a hardware problem, but I for one, do not believe in paying so much for so little and feeling happy for it.
That is why I feel exploited and wish I could get a refund and go back to my (actually, not so older) phone.
I wish I could buy a good phone, which would perform according to what's advertised, not a good image.
But, that seems to be getting harder and harder, nowadays...
i want to know is it right that the ordinary version of galaxy s ii I9100 stopped for production and all new galaxy phones is the I9100G version
Many new good phones out there nowadays but ofcourse SG2 is the benchmark. To have a better phone a mfg must outdo it! That says alot about who's boss. Samsung win_pants down_but I only have 2 problems.
1.Battery! Like seriously! MotoRazzr Maxx is 3300mah.
2.NO gsm/gsm dual SIM SG2 variant which I beleive would b like owning 2 GS2s at the same time in one gadget!
Hey! has any1 from India bought the 2000mah battery?? What is the price?? where did u buy it from??
Piranha, 20 Feb 2012A lot of galaxies around. Samsung should find some other name for its phones. I wouldn't use a... moreThey cannot change the name, they must make all new models with galaxy name also. Its because simple people are the main buyer group here, they need a familiar name. The same has been proven with cars, people who have no clue need a familiar name, both Toyota and Nissan had to change names of some cars in many asian markets because the uneducated buyers said "but where is corolla? We want to buy corolla! We dont like Altis, what teh H is Altis?". So the name changed to Corolla Altis. And NIssan Exalta didnt sell at all in Philippines, but when they renamed it to Sentra Exalta is became popular, people knew the Sentra name. So Galaxy it is, all Samsungs must be galaxy to sell well. The filipinos who had a clue would not buy neither exalta or sentra ofcors, smart people dont drive "Galaxy" cars eheh
Ali, 17 Feb 2012y all that samsung always want is to become APPLE? really guys... use your own imagination a... moreU're are just being biased about the whole issue man! think about it sg2's got all d features 4s boast of and even more! ...Apple came and saw, but Samsung conquered! Wen apple's done wit runnin' their business like a secret cult, den we'll knw they're ready for business. Who wants to own a phone they can't FREELY use as they'd have really loved to..?
Best specs let down by battery, screen and camera photos.
Had mine already repaired and not satisfied with solution: "That's normal/inevitable" is NOT the answer to screen tinting and pink spots on white backgrounds whilst taking photos.
Only a massive marketing campaign has kept this phone overpriced.
I am sorry to say, I can't recommend this phone. Too many problems and faults for the price:
Way too expensive!
A lot of galaxies around. Samsung should find some other name for its phones. I wouldn't use a phone called galaxy run by android. Sounds like a low-budget science-fiction movie :)))
Hi guys..I just bought my S2 recently..i'm just wondering if original Samsung 2000mah battery available in Malaysia..
how was this phone performance? how was kies. heard that kies not really good. should i wait for sgs3??
Srikanthga, 19 Feb 2012Great phone! poor build quality, poor battery backup.
What is the point. The point is, use a basic phone not a powerful smartphone if you are complaining about the battery!
im having problems with the camera it freezes anytime i takes about 4 photos
