Maxwell Lord, 27 Dec 2011Oh and yup dre, I do use the default launcher which is touchwiz? The only apps that i got inst... moreYes, it's as easy as one-two-three. Just connect your phone using the cable to your pc. Then run Samsung KIES. If there is a new firmware update, you will be directed and guided accordingly, then the rest will just be a breeze. I have already updated mine thrice since I bought my unit in August, and I did not encounter a single glitch. By the way, you may opt not to backup your files just like what I always did, for that is basically just for reference purposes of Samsung and its server but after the update all apps will still be intact and contacts will still be there. Doing the back up consumes time, but if you want to be sure, you may do this process. Hope you get successful in updating the firmware of your phone. Hope to hear your success story.hehe! God bless!!

The only apps that i got installed with my SGS2 by my friend is Ubermusic,FB,Foursquare,Angry birds(1, rio, and seasons), deathworm, cut the rope, fruit ninja, that is all as far as I recalled (my friend also downloaded a free twitter for android app non app market but its not working so I have uninstalled it).
mnemosyne29, 27 Dec 2011I suggest you connect your unit to your pc and check if there is an available firmware update ... moreThanks a lot for the help dre! This is the 1st time that I'll be doing this. Is it safe? I'm mean damn, I'm too paranoid and not confident enough to do it. Rather, is it easy to do? Sorry for being a noob with this matter I just let the service centre peeps do this kind of jobs because I sort of trust them. XD
Maxwell Lord, 27 Dec 2011Hey dre, I'm a Filipino just like you. I just bought my SGSII at a Samsung Shop in Sm North An... moreI suggest you connect your unit to your pc and check if there is an available firmware update for your unit. I updated mine earlier from version 2.3.3 to 2.3.6. Check your firmware version by going to setting-about phone-android version. If there is an available upgrade in KIES, update your phone's firmware and doing it will eliminate all of the problems you previously mentioned. If you also downloaded other launchers, make sure you choose a default one, better yet stick to the stock launcher which is TouchWiz(TW), for it is a much stable launcher than those in the market like ADW, Launcher pro or go launcher.
I just have that problem a few days ago but I tried to upgrade its firm to ICS (IceCreamSanwich)thats why there's a popo-up that keep bugging me called TW Launcher and so on..... So I returned its original firmware (2.3.3 or DWKG3) using Odin. But the problem for this firmware is that it Lacks of Battery life.
