please oh... does anyone here use the sgs2 in nigeria.. is the heating problem actually an issue... can i have more than one email account programmed on the phone? whats the latest software gingerbread 2.3.4 and how do i upgrade to it?
Probably the best phone of 2011.No issues with screen, battery life or heating issues. Those who r complaining about battery life and heating issues, just turn off all the applications from task manager and clear memory. And you have the issue resolved.
hey can anyone help me out with this. i was gaming since quite some time on the fone. n when i started whatsapp the screen went really dim.. like i had to strain my eyes to read. less than 10% also and a msg popped up saying 'screen filter enabled' something like tht. now i cudnt find any option of screen filter in settings. i restarted the fone, reisntalled the app but nuthing happened. and the brightness automatically reduced to prevent overheating.the problem was just with watsapp. the screen just went to normal on its own a couple of mins ago. was this problem due to over heating of the battery?? is there any defect in the fone
Bryan, 14 Sep 2011Its been 3 months since i got this monster, and im loving each moment of it, Got one question ... more@ Bryan.
The heating problem is not that severe. Any phone when used for long and heavy use of processor warms up because of processor usage. Even your laptop/desktop heats up when playing heavy loaded games/processing. This is normal behavior.
However, if your phone heats to an extent that it becomes uncomfortable to hold, then it is a worry.
2.3.4 claims to have resolve the heating issue by optimizing the use of processor and also increases the battery life. However, the difference is just nominal. Lets say if your phone used to get warm upto 35 deg C then probably with 2.3.4 it will warm upto 30. Thats it. But still, 2.3.4 is a much better and a reliable OS and obviously superceeds the predecessor.
RaffRene, 14 Sep 2011Please clarify this for me: dual-core means there are two CPUs, right? are they both clocked a... moreNot so. Dual core processor will increase performance by 30% to 70%. This is advantageous for multi-processing and gaming. It is power efficient. The draw back is increase of operating temperature. This is also good for video processing. But if you are using the phone for ordinary browsing or office processing like word and excel, there is minimal improvement. Hope this will help.

Dual core with 1.2GHz doesn't mean you have to sum it up. That is not the way.
Its been 3 months since i got this monster, and im loving each moment of it, Got one question to all you SG2 owners, does this phone heats up? (during playing 3d games or using browser for 10 to 15 mins) does any one else also has the same issues? or is this the normal behavior?
If its the battery it should heat up during charging, but its not battery, looks like processor heats up.
4got to mention got 2.3.3 running on it.
will 2.3.4 or next versions solve this?
Please clarify this for me: dual-core means there are two CPUs, right? are they both clocked at 1.2 GHZ, so it sums up to a total of 2.4GHZ in Galaxy S II? or is it 2 CPUs each clocked at 0.6GHZ? or something completely different?
