how about the build quality
i had a wave 8500, which accidentally fell down and thats it, the display gone and board maynot be useful according to service center
so they asked for 11,500, which i didnt
so afraid of amoled screens, as display outer and inner panles are same, so if damaged u have to get a new amoled screen which is very costly
[deleted post]Which part of this video will convince me to get an HTC Sensation instead?
[deleted post]There are many more videos which says galaxy s2 is better than HTC sensation :) ...
Anyway in my opinion galaxy s2 is much better than HTC sensation :)
hi i like the model, shape off the is not impressive,
goku, 05 Jul 2011When will this phone available in Indonesia....HTC Sensation is tempting me to just leave this... moreread Detik.com.. planned on july 23rd, 2011 (The launching date is july 6th,2011-which is today)
got me an S2 yesterday, love the design and everything about it... my first android, so there's lots of stuff to discover :-) what I'm not to excited about is the soundquality with headphones... I had a Samsung Wave S8500, that one's got way better sound... I put everything to the same setings (Rock, Bass Enhancement) but can't get the same awesome quality out of it... maybe this will get better with updates...
hii anyone sgs2 owner plz help me out..
does sgs2 has poor wifi.????
plz tell ....
AnonD-5465, 05 Jul 2011every region got its code... whats ur ..?? write here ur kernel pda baseband versions to see ... moremy baseband version is i19100DXKF1
KF1 seems like its the oldest version?
I've no regrets gettng this power-packed phone.
My HTC Desire was just 5-weeks old when I decided to ride the bandwagon and got the Galaxy S2. I had great experience using the former, but it's apparently no match with the latter -- the display, ultra-fast processor, rich video format and the rest of other excellent features.
I've never experienced any heat issues so far (I'm not hoping to though). Yes, I notice some light yellow tint on some part of the screen but it's almost unnoticeable that it doesn't really bother me.
I guess I'll be keeping this phone for years. :)
AnonD-5465, 05 Jul 2011using it since 14 days am from (alexandria, egypt) just downloaded latest firmware the phone is... morehi there .. glad to know another Alexandrian SGSII owner :)

Can anyone tell me where is gs2 made? china korea? and from where do i download the official updates? ps. dont have it, planning to buy it
So far so good except for the battery life.
I like the all-in-one notification - clap, clap!
How do I save photos directly from the web?
Android market needs a lot of improvement - feel, layout, experience-wise,etc.
Coming from AppStore and iPhone 4 usage I can't help but compare.
For some weird reason I don't have video call on Skype and VIBER isn't available yet :(
An absolutely amazing piece of hardware. Samsung has really outdone themselves this time. While the Galaxy S was a winner in it's own way (3 million units in 85 days), the Galaxy S 2 beats the pants off it's own predecessor, not to mention the competition.
As of now, the Galaxy S 2 has sold over 3 million units in just 55 days.. That's a phone every 1.5 seconds!!!
Having used the phone for over 2 weeks now, I can gladly say "Money well spent".
The CPU is a killer multitasker and Gingerbread complements it well. The camera lives up to expectations and sometimes exceeds them.
Movies, Pics, Games are a treat on it's gorgeous display and scrubbing through HD video is flawless. The CPU is the clear deal clincher here, but the GPU hold it's own.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are very good and pretty useful, especially with the included Maps app.
The 1600mAH battery powers the phone well enough but is quickly drained when gaming (3-4 hours MAX), but should give you about a day or a day and half of normal usage (with nominal Wi-Fi usage).
The pre-installed apps are only worth a look and I haven't used them at all since the first time I checked them out.
The pre-installed browser is good enough but I use Firefox only because I'm used to it.
The provided widgets and live wallpapers should get you by, but if you're a power user, an alternative launcher, or widget pack and extra live wallpapers are a must. (I currently use Shadow Galaxy by Maxellus: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.maxelus.shadowgalaxylivewallpaper - Suits the phone very well)
Samsung Kies, the PC suite, bundled with the phone, is the only gripe I have with this package. It's extremely resource hungry and takes ages to start up and use. I gave up on it after a couple of uses and am moving to an alternative.
Verdict: 4.8 out of 5 (Not 5 out of 5, only because Kies really sucks!!)
