But when I f... moreRoot will not use any battery its like giving Super user permission for the required apps, reg battery consumption i am getting around 1 to 1.5 days on stock 2.3.5 with root and normal use (3o Min of phone calls, 1 hour of games and 1 hour of browsing on wifi).

Don't use live wall paper, use a darker wall paper to reduce screen consumption, switch to 2g to reduce consumption while having phone calls, in other words use it only like a telephone (hi, bye that's it) and it will easily last 2 or 3 days, but where's the fun in that? OR buy a charger for home, charger for work and car charger and plug it whenever you get a chance, all the time praying that manufacturers will stop the silly slimness race and start a battery life race :)

Nothing like that.. Yes, true, you'll lose warranty if you root.. But when I flashed the stock 2.3.6 rom using Odin, my phone was unrooted after the flash! I had to re root!.. And I think it's easy to unroot as well.. I haven't done that but I think it can be easily done..
Can anyone throw some light on this?? ;-)
Any my battery life was pathetic with 2.3.5.
With this 2.3.6 version I get easily 1.5-2 days.. My phone was rooted earlier and even now it is rooted. So I think root doesn't make much difference.. The ROM does :-)
i got problem with my battary it's got emptey very fast with normal use it is only work for one day and at the end of the day it is emptey
Thanks for the reply man..i am just worried that i am gonna lose the warranty if i root it..plus i heard the battery drains faster on rooted devices..How much of these theories do you think is true..?and is it necessary?
Joseph, 13 Mar 2012Hey guys using the firmware 2.3.6. Please tell me how did you exactly get the firmware. Help i... moreI downloaded it from here:
I downloaded the Austria version(has some bloatware, but it's ok.. some 4-5 bloatwares..)
And I flashed it to my phone using Odin.
Procedure is here, if you are not familiar with Odin:
You need a rooted phone. Please take a backup of your present ROM, just in case...
