I know! S3 is such an amazing phone that it us holding back sales of S4 and newer products.. thats why samsung is rumored to not update s3 . But some websites and people on here said that 1gb ram is insuffucient and i dont agree yi yhat...

A funny thing also happened when i went to the mobile store to purchase s3 last week, the salesman spent half an hour trying to convince me for the cheaper grand 2 with "better specs" acc to him.. i hated the size of grand 2 and stayed firm with buying s3..

Aki, 22 Feb 2014Also, Kitkat was planned to work "comfortably" on devices with as low as 512MB RAM. ... moreReply to Aki.

The S3 is holding back the sale of newer Samsung products. S3 delivered on its promise and from a business stand point it has to make way for S5. But I have a question for Samsung. Why not increase sales on added value of new technology rather than suppressing the updates that keep the older phones going?

Anthony, 21 Feb 2014That is not the reason because the Grand is getting it and it also has 1gb of RAMAlso, Kitkat was planned to work "comfortably" on devices with as low as 512MB RAM.
So RAM can NEVER be a reason why it won't be updated to Kitkat.
