well, that's your opinion. i myself think this phone is too "plastic-y". for it's price i think the design should have been better. it looks too generic. typical samsung design. but it is what it is, so that's that.

really sorry after i say "done" i wait 30 min to see next step. then my sooo sleepy and went to bed. any way are you there?
I was playing Candy Crush when suddenly my s3 hangs then goes black out. Though after removing the battery, it went fine. Have you had the same experience with mine? I just bought this 5 days ago. I uninstalled Go Launcher since I suspect that that is the reason why my phone lags a bit. Please comment on this. Thanks!

samalhg, 16 Apr 2013Done. 100% OK. what next. Now that you know how to clear your cache partition it time to do this for real.
Backup anything stored on phone memory that is important to you encase things donít go to plan and you have to do a restore. (Stuff on SD card is safe) I take that back. Take off any encryption you may have on your SD card. You can put it back after.
Now power off the phone and clear the cache partition again.
But this time when you are rebooting after the clear you want to go to download mode instead of the OS.
When the phone powers off hold volume down+home+power
Release them all when you see the on screen instructions. Press volume up to enter download mode.
If you miss this and enter the OS it would be best to start over and clear the cache again.
If you are in download mode then go to the next step
Connect the phone to your PC and let the USB drivers load.
One you have the drivers installed run Odin and see if it puts a com number for your phone.
If you see the com # click the PDA button in odin3 and find the ROM file you unzipped.
And let it load. (DO NOT change any other settings)
Ones it is ready click start.
And watch it load your ROM.
When it is done your phone will reboot.
You can then disconnect it from the PC.
First boot will be longer than normal but if you are stuck on the Samsung logo for more than 20min it is safe to say you have a booting problem.
If you have a booting problem remove the battery, return it and go into the bootloader and clear the cache> pick the option to factory reset>reboot the phone in that order.
I'm intrigued at the lengths you are going to just to silence the shutter sound on your phone; flashing a new ROM is a drastic step to take for just that.
Could you satisfy my curiosity and tell me WHY it is so important to silence that sound?
samalhg, 16 Apr 2013Done. 100% OK. what next.Unzip odin3 and the ROM you downloaded.
Alt+Ctrl+delete go to task manager and under processes, end anything related to kies.
(You donít want kies trying to hijack the phone when odin3 is working on it.)
Anonymous, 16 Apr 2013It doesn't have 4G????!!! does it have different with I 9305??? is it korea?or china?Usually if your phone doesn't have 4G signal you need to set your phone to "CDMA/LTE/EVDO" in Settings > Wireless and Network > More Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Mode. If it is set to CDMA only then you won't get an LTE signal even if one is available.
Odd...does it not also say LTE? did the box it came with say LTE on it? Even the display im sure you looked at in the sprint store said 4G LTE on it.. So how exactly did they trick customers into buying the phone?
samalhg, 16 Apr 2013ok Anthony, then give me the instruction to install what i downloaded(I9300XXEMC2_I9300OXAEMC2_... more Now I want you to be comfortable going into your boot loader as this is important to fix any booting problems that may/may not happen after the ROM switch
Power off the phone
Remove any case you may have on (just easier to work that way) take off battery cover as well if it helps you.
Hold volume up + home + power keys all at the same time.
As soon as you see the android with the open chest release the power key, then the rest of keys.
In there use volume keys no navigate to clear cache partition and power key to enter.
Then navigate to the option to reboot the system and power key to enter.
When you have successfully done this let me know.

If you want a rooted phone, you will still have to root it after you change the ROM.
As for kies there is a 50/50 chance that kies will say your device dose not support itís update service. BUT OTA updating will work for updated for the new ROM you have on as normal.
You can use kies to restore your original ROM but there is still a 50/50 chance that kies will still say updating is not supported. BUT OTA updating will work.
Kies is just not 100% dependable.
To check to see if kies can restore your phone open it a go to
Tools>Firmware upgrade and initialzation
Put in your full model name (case sensitive)
Put in your S/N which is found on the battery compartment sticker. (case sensitive)
a) If it accepts both, then you phone can be restored from any crap you do/donít do.
b) The info you have to enter above must be done with the phone not connected to the PC or it will not work.
Chances are you will not use kies to restore your phone any way as UK BTU will always get newer ROMs long before your provider get updated ROMs
That has been the experience with my SIII that is also provider branded.
