I am using waze for 6 months on my S3 without any problems but when running with 2 or more other memory hungry apps like antivirus and mobile care apps then the phone seems to become a bit unstable. Hope this helps.
S3 User, 02 Mar 2013Thank you.
The model is i9300T and its getting connected to 850 and 900Mhz 3G frequencies... moreCan't speak for where you are but where I am 2 service providers sell the I9300.
One sell unlocked and gives H+ service on 1900 MHz
The other locked and gives H+ service on 850 MHz
I'm with the 850MHz provider and my wife is with the 1900MHz provider. We are both on the same speed package but every speed test we do I get more bandwidth on the 850 especially indoors.
Btw I have the provider locked phone but have used odin3 to change to ROMs to 5 other regions. All work fine with no instability. Right now im using the ROM from the unlocked provider in my country because they get OTA updates first :)
(Wife using unlocked i9100.)
Why this SGS3 the price is falling so fast down, and to many guys is selling them as second hand for low as 250.euros unlockt!
Anthony, 01 Mar 2013A locked I9300 is no different from an unlocked I9300 on the hardware side.
But not all SIII ... moreThank you.
The model is i9300T and its getting connected to 850 and 900Mhz 3G frequencies where as i9300 just connects to 900Mhz .(Tried both sims) Is it beacauce enhaced 3G capability on i9300T ? The service provider said the 3G frequency 850MHZ is not stable on i9300.
The hardware specifications on box are same except it shows HSPA+ and enhanced 3G for 850 Mhz.
MAX3, 01 Mar 2013waze is working fine with me. try to clear cache then re-install.Thanks.
Turns out the wifi in the office was playing a # on it. Working fine with the 4G
Friend showed me "Waze" on his HTC ONE X its a nav app that actually has my country.
Was thinking I could stop using my HD2 for nav. Now.
But waze is crashing on my I93000. :(
Does anyone here use the app on a i9300?
S3 user, 01 Mar 2013Please clarify whether there are two versions of S3. one with Hspa and other Hspa+ with enhanc... moreJust so you know
HSPA+ WIMAX and LTE are all 4G standards just different protocols. (HSPA+ is the only one with true voice circuit WIMAX and LTE use VoIP)
Looking at a bit rate chart it gets completed.
HSPA+ can have a throughput of 672Mbit/s
LTE can have 1Gbit/s fixed but mobile users are limited to 326Mb/s throughput
WiMAX is 70000mb/s but that is divided up by the amount of devices connected to a broadcast node.
Saying which version of 4G is fastest for the end user comes down to what the providers he/she can sign up with guaranties as there throughput and finding out what protocol they use. not really what 4G stranded you have in your phone hardware.
S3 User, 01 Mar 2013Are HSPA and HSPA+ same? Why it showing hspa+ on box of new S3 rather than hspa ? Does locked... moreA locked I9300 is no different from an unlocked I9300 on the hardware side.
But not all SIII are I9300. When the model# changes so does the hardware, but it is still called an SIII. So what you need to look at is not model # to find what 3G frequencies it will work with.
S3 user, 01 Mar 2013Please clarify whether there are two versions of S3. one with Hspa and other Hspa+ with enhanc... moreI own the I9300 it supports HSPA and HSPA+
They both use the same radio but the protocols are different (HSDPA capable of downlink speeds of 14Mbit/s also known as 3G vs WCDMA capable of downlink speeds of 168Mbit/s)
HSPA+ uses the band more efficiently so if your service provider uses that protocol they can give you download speeds that are faster than a service provider using the HSPA protocol.
For some providers that don’t have LTE (4G), HSPA is marketed as 3G and the HSPA+ is marketed as (4G) as there claim is LTE is capable of 1gb speed but no provider sells that speed to date. And what is sold is very near to what can be accomplished using HSPA+
For this reason I wanted to know from some one that is paying for LTE what download speed they are getting. As my provider gives me 12mbps and they use the HSPA+ protocol (something that could be accomplished on the HSPA protocol.)
I hope you understand the mess of technology vs marketing
