I would not recommend it unless you're 100% sure of the custom rom and whether all of s3's functions would work with it. (eg:- Camera, Vid calling... etc)
I have been meddling with samsung droids for some time now and the safest way to upgrade your version and everything that comes through with it is, using Samsung KIES.
My s3 is now running ver. 4.1.2 upgraded through KIES and everything is in perfect order.
how much time it will take to charge s3 from 0 to 100% mine is taking around 4 hours
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2013Does an update depend on your service provider? Updated depend on the region ROM you currently have on your phone.
And if you have a provider branded ROM, that also dictates when you get updates.
I really love my Galaxy S3. It does everything i want except video re size when i want to send via e-mail but S3 is still the best phone in the market. Hope with new updates Samsung will bring new features like RAM smart control. Especially i like Smart stay, S voice and Best face functions Thanks Samsung for a such beautiful and functional phone.....
how safe is it to flash my sIII with official 4.1.2rom made for Poland?
Anonymous, 29 Jan 2013Does somebody knows when will South Africa receive the update 4.1.2 been waiting johThe update has been around for about 2 months. You've probably not got your Notifications enabled.
everybody is talking about 4.1.2 but here i am in nepal still stuck at 4.0.4..what a sad update policy great phone but bad service by samsung.
Does the JB update 4.1.2 in India solve the sudden death problem in S3??
yogi, 29 Jan 2013Which one has better, sharp screen color Xperia U or S3?S3 I think cause it's a super AMOLED display mean it has a vivid colours , and as I know it's highly saturated, and you get about 4 sets to choose from (movie , natural , standard what makes colours saturates, and dynamic that makes colours very saturated ), the only draw back of any AMOLED Screen is that colours are a bit bluish or colder to be natural looking
The S3 sound quality is perfect with Boeffla Kernel using "DAC-direct" for "true" sound! I actually sometimes get tears in my eyes because of the perfect sound quality using Boeffla Kernel!
S2 is almost a "perfect" phone, but the sound quality is very bad and the sound sounds "dead" because to many "stereoeffects" sounds like mono, sound supposed to be in only the left, or right, is in both, and that makes the sound feel "dead" not "alive"!
John Ong, 29 Jan 2013I lost all my data and apps when I upgraded my Tab 7.o Plus from Honeycomb to ICS. Will I face... moreAlways back up your data, honestly you never know when something could happen..No-one on earth can gaurantee anything when its down to electronic data..
I have back ups and then backed up again..Dont bother backing up any music (that can be got again)but precious photos and videos you will never get back if something goes wrong..One corrupt memory card or harddrive failure or you accidently delete and its gone forever..I learnt the hardwayand very wary of electronic data thats precious.
Looking forwward like hell to Samsung Galaxy S 4 .
i really love my galaxy s3 it does everything that i wanted, because of its quadcore cpu and a lot of features that it would really be helpful like direct call and smart stay. i ordered a amber brown galaxy s3 and the color is really eye catching.
John Ong, 29 Jan 2013I lost all my data and apps when I upgraded my Tab 7.o Plus from Honeycomb to ICS. Will I face... moreNothing to lose if you do backup. Try go backup pro (free) or titanium backup (free).
Takes a few minutes, just do it anyways :P :)

SkyCupid Lim, 29 Jan 2013Does New JB update fix the Sudden Dead Problem ?@ SkyCupid Lim
Why? Do you know ANYONE who has suffered with it?
I haven't, nor anyone else I know who has a S3. The problem only affected a VERY small minority of the 30,000,000 or so S3 phones out there.
It's a bit like malaria, or rabies, I suppose. If you haven't got it, don't worry about it.
