AnonD-99779, 11 Jan 2013Check the www.corninggorillaglass.com website and then tell me whether i should imagine it to ... moreyou do understand that point loads apply more force to the glass than distributed loads.
And when the word “resistant” is used, you should never treat it as if it is the word “proof” if your phone fell from 6 inches and the screen break. I say you look for that. A case with a lip would have distributed the loads and saved the screen. And they cost the fraction of the cost of the phone or to replace the screen.
[deleted post]are you sure yours is original ?? And that is why i go always for sony however the person that told you that is a fool
Anonymous, 11 Jan 2013i heard that gs3 handsets are crashing(sudden death) for no reason, and won't reboot and this ... moreI got the same problem and the vendor said motherboard needs replacement.
I am shocked as its hardly seventh month.
This phone does NOT have CORNING GORILLA GLASS 2 on it. My phone fell from a height of half-feet and the glass shattered. Everything else works fine. Now to repair it they are CHARGING Rs.9000 for it. I had even complained to the CEO, but all they say is that the phone does not have it. They are all DENYING that. Be careful. If you buy this phone, treat it like crockery(you cannot eat on it also). If this phone falls face down from even a small height, the glass will shatter.
The TouchWiz ui is very slow. The quad-core processor does not do any good once you install facebook, g+, dropbox, and other syncing apps. I guess most of the processing goes to the large screen.
When I first used it, it had ICS, which is very bloaty and applications kept crashing. Then There was a software update and It's ok but there are the occassional application crashes.
Also make sure whether you can reach the far end of the phone's screen with your one hand only, otherwise you might have to occasionally use two hands just to do normal operations.
The battery does not last for more than 8 hours if you're using internet thru 3g, or for document editing/writing or other office work. But if you use it just as a phone why would you want to buy this phone???
I'd recommend you wait for some more time so that the bugs get smoothened.

Anthony, 15 Dec 2012no phone has break proof glass. gorilla glass is not break proof.
it's "scratch resist... moreCheck the www.corninggorillaglass.com website and then tell me whether i should imagine it to be break resistant (atleast to some extent) or not. They don't call it gorilla glass for nothing. The properties of the glass is also provided in the website. The Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is supposed to be capable of withstanding upto 7.5kg impact. Being scratch resistant is only one of the properties.
Even though if they say it's scratch resistant, do not let it get rubbed with sand, because that can easily scratch it.
