I was trying to help. My s3 runs better with JB. I use to watch my home screen redraw on ics when I came out of a app. No if that is not lag it don't know what is. You said you did a rest but you never said if you cleared the cache partition first. So did you do that or not?
So why not just put back ics if you don't like JB?
Remember to back up all contacts externally, usually I upload to my email inbox together with my ringtone & wallpaper.
Factory reset will erase files in your MSD card as well, except those stored in folders. Example, if u export all contacts to external USB, it will store as vcf file openly in the card. It will be erased in a factory reset. So be careful if u have any.

Maybe it's just psychological effect, the phone is running well. Especially the battery life is so much better compare to ICS.
The only difference I notice is usage of RAM is more now.

I never told that i own a S3. I use it, i test it and rate it. I'm also not owning a S2. I had it in my hands played with it, test it! Don't be so blind by your beloved Samsung that you can not understand the simple things that comes before your eyes. Not all the people see a scheisse gadget as their God;). Instead of blinding your self with your false God, maybe you could open your eyes. S beam is just a file transfer method between two phones with the help of NFC and via Wlan. So the future NFC is enough to mention. It is not like is Samsung Galaxy beam (the only innovation from Samsung, to bad that in most of the cases is useless:-J) Also, allot of what you have mentioned are rarely noticeable... or unnoticeable.
Anthony, 05 Nov 2012use google account to backup contacts and calendar.
Samsung account to backup sms mms and log... moreYou miss the point, S3 lags more with Jelly Bean than it did on ICS, even though doing a factory reset both before and after upgrading! "Projekt butter" makes swiping trough homescreens better, but on S3 that was not really a problem on ICS, but very often it is slower to open apps and there are often "stuttering" and even real lag on Jelly Bean and that never happened on ICS!
When you upgrade Android has a built in function to optimize already installed apps, so there is no reason to do a factory reset!
How many people here have taken the time to learn how SamsungDive works? Or is that one of the things you wait till something happens, then try to find out how to use it (when it is too late)Ö

Your data on the SD card is not deleted in a factory reset. Only internal store is wiped.
So you can move important files to the SD card for save keeping.
Paid playstore software can be reinstall for fee as your licence is saved with your google account.
You donít change your ROM every day so do it once and do it right. Save your self the complaining about something not working.
If you want to say Samsung lazy, then Microsoft lazy as well because there products have the same problem.
You can be pig headed and decide not to do a clean install. But its only you will have to live with the results or lack there of. Its your phone not mine.

It is not uncommon for things like this and other odd glitches to happen after doing an OS upgrade. That is why it is recommended to do personal data backup before do an upgrade. Because it the upgrade corrupted a clean install must be done.
Donít be fooled by people that would say it is a problem with Samsung. Or a problem with manufactory ROMs because I have seen the same thing using Windows Mobile and upgrading many PCís from 1 OS version to the next.
I have even had to do a task29 using cooked ROMs as well.
I am copy pasting the info below for those that have mist it in my original post.
You can choose to follow it or not.
It is recommended that you do a (True) factory reset to get rid of ICS ghosting that causes errors in jellybean.
What is ghosting........
Ghosting is when old drivers and files from one ROM is left on your phone when a new ROM is installed. These file donít know there ROM is gone and still try to work with the new ROM and cause strange behaviour like a ghost in your phone.
How is Ghosting possible...
Your phone has a cache partition. This partition is not wiped when you do a ROM upgrade. Sometimes after the upgrade is completed, data in that cache partition returns to your phone but the ROM they belong to is already gone.
What is a TRUE factory reset.....
A true factory reset is when you clear the cache partition first then do the factory reset right after without going back into the OS between the two actions. This prevents ghosting from happening.
How to do a TRUE factory reset after a ROM upgrade....
After you update your ROM...
1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold the volume up key and the home key and power key at the same time.
3. When you see the Android with the open chest on your screen, take your fingers off the keys.
4. Use volume keys to move to (wipe cache partition) and press the power key to enter.
5. Use volume keys to move to (wipe data/factory reset) and press the power key to enter.
6. Use volume keys to move to (reboot system now) and press the power key to enter.
After this is done, your new ROM will run as it was intended.
better we use note compare then this for their
4. educational use
6. money expenditure
7.availability of spare parts
9.rough use (hard use)
10.more then single hand use
I upgraded my s3 to jelly bean and now it's wifi kept on disconnected. I thought it was the problem of my wifi bcus my sister r using s3 ics too but dont have problem wif her wifi connection but just after she upgraded to jelly bean she's having the same problem n now we have to turn the wifi off n on in order to get connected to the wifi. Its annoying as i have to turn it off n on to use viber. Watsapp n etc
I agree, round design looks ugly, I would prefer Xperia instead, very beautiful and same features.
Anthony, 05 Nov 2012Read line 5, paragraph 2
take a read for ... moreThere is no need to factory reset and reinstall apps, or programs, after every update/upgrade, and even Android is designed to not need this! It is just lazy/bad programming/testing that make Samsung... put the legal blame on the user if the update "breaks" the phone...!
Rooting is not recommended by Samsung or Google, but you need to root to be able to do a complete backup, and on Galaxy S3 a factory reset completly removes everything, pictures..., on the internal sd-card/memory, so I do not recommend ever doing a factory reset on S3!
To everyone that want official ROMs for manual installation.
you need to become a member to be able to download.

You donít type in the number in the message box then put the phone to your ear.
How is that time saving?
You go to a message you got. And if you want to call that person just put the phone to your ear and it will call the # they messaged you from.
