Try K-9 email client. I think it is better than the stock email app and might do what you want.
I don't get it. Why Lg Optimus G go with 768x1280 instead of 720p (720x1280) which is the common screen ratio on the market now. If they choose that 768x1280 screen, there won't be much games optimized for that kind of screen ratio.
I am unable to dosnload any app or update any app from Play store after updating the s/w. can anyone tell what shud I do? Please help...
Want to buy one but is there a difference between the european version and the usa version when it comes to options/possibilities on the phone?

Is it me or does the SGS3 with all it's bugs and sad design simply feel outdated with all the new launches today. SGS4 is ages away. Doesn't look so good for Samsung.

Even if it comes with a 5000mAh battery, there will be complains about insufficient battery life or, some called it battery backup, whatever that means.
Can we still do something about the battery life of this galaxy s3?. this mp is exceptional and the only thing that i can consider as s3's flaw is the efficiency of the battery,,

Anthony, 05 Sep 2012I have done what you send for the email as soon as I got the phone, so I know that didn’t fix ... more@ Anthony
I tried sending an email to myself to see the problem and you are right.
I suspect that the answer lies in the APN settings, and in particular the 'Proxy' settings, if any, that your carrier uses.
When I get time I'll look on the Market and try to find a different email client that might work.
YOYOP, 05 Sep 2012Funny I sent a msg to myself and red circle stay there again after readed.I go to task manager... more@ YOYOP
From what you are saying I would suspect that a third party app is the cause of both your problems.
I know for a fact (to my cost) that apps such as 'Beautiful Widgets' can upset the settings of the stock apps.
If you can remember when your problem started then Force Close or remove any apps that might have caused your problems.
The only other option is a factory reset, but this will wipe your phone clean, so back up your contacts etc. first.
Performing a factory data reset via settings
Go to Settings.
Select Back up and reset.
Click on Factory data reset ~ Reset all settings and delete all data on device.
Select Reset device.
Finally, select Erase everything.
Performing a factory data reset using phone buttons
Turn off Samsung Galaxy S3.
Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
Release all buttons when you see SGS3 Logo.
Android system recovery will be loaded then.
Select wipe data/factory reset. (use Volume buttons to go up or down, select with Home button)
Select Yes — delete all user data.
Finally, select reboot system now.
Performing a factory format using dialpad
Warning ~ no turning back after key in.
Bring up dialpad.
Key in *2767*3855#
Finally, SGS3 will be rebooted and factory format.

Sometimes goes off itself as set but most off the time wont turn off itself and staying on :-( Many thanks !!!
[deleted post]@ YOYOP
OK, let's do this in steps..
1) It might sound strange, but are you SURE that you don't have an unread mail in your inbox?
2) Are you using a 3rd party app for messaging e.g GoSMSPro, Handcent, Pansi etc? These have to configured to disable the stock messaging notification.
3) If the answer to the above is NO try this...
Goto Settings>Application Manager>All (on the top bar).
Locate 'Badge Provider' and select it. Press 'clear data'. That will remove the red circle on the message icon.
4) If the problem persists, although it shouldn't, Goto:
Settings>Developer options, and scroll down to Apps. Turn ON 'Do not keep activities'.
5) The sound problem.
Pull down the Notification bar at the top of the Home screen and make sure that 'Notification' is ON.
Then goto Settings>Sound>Volume, and make sure that all the sliders are on Maximum.
If the sound still doesn't work, try another sound to see if it works.
