AnonD-4814, 07 Sep 2012It's definitely not lag-free. It happen quiet often though, especially when your phone run out... moreor simply mr ios , wp fan it is already so smooth but for real speed try jellybean officially on s3 dude! it is awesome, so zippy and do not mind lag for a second!
AnonD-4814, 07 Sep 2012It's definitely not lag-free. It happen quiet often though, especially when your phone run out... moreit is lag free if you beleive it or not!
AnonD-4814, 07 Sep 2012It's definitely not lag-free. It happen quiet often though, especially when your phone run out... morewhat u think im lying? maybe cas my sgs3 is only a week old but again no, no lag..
i do have the phone set to nova launcher as default but even on touch wiz no lag issues
Anonymous, 07 Sep 2012bro basically any somewhat current high spec'd smartphone your going to get about a day out of... moreIt's definitely not lag-free. It happen quiet often though, especially when your phone run out of ram. And when you open the menu and open the widget drawer and scroll left to right for the first time with normal speed, there must be some lag, even more when you hold the drawer number and scroll.
wookieone, 07 Sep 2012Had this phone for a week now and miss my iphone so much I'm not a fanboy of apple but they do... moreTake it back or you will be sorry, I did the Samsung charge for 7 days, what a nightmare phone, never own anything but apple again, they do it right, everyone else experiments.
AnonD-36095, 07 Sep 2012I never complained about the battery, that was someone else! I just jumped in with my opinion... moreI have seen the home screen redraw of items maybe once or twice.
But it is very hard for me to duplicate what caused it.
AnonD-36095, 07 Sep 2012I never complained about the battery, that was someone else! I just jumped in with my opinion... morefingers crossed the new Jelly Bean update will fix the lag issues ur having
also, it seems to be more common on the US variant of the s3 running the dual core s4 chipset as opposed to the international quad core s3..
not sure where your from but could also be a part of the reason possibly
AnonD-36095, 07 Sep 2012I never complained about the battery, that was someone else! I just jumped in with my opinion... morehey mate came across this, doesnt help much but may be of incite..
my biggest suggestion would be to try a 3rd party launcher like Nova or Apex...i had the occassional redraw on TouchWiz...but ive NEVER had the problem running Nova..
with Android..you have dozens of manufacturers, using countless hardware combinations, making endless modifications to the Android Source code...that is where inconsistency comes from..
Edit: I realize that swapping launchers is not necessarily the answer you're looking for because TouchWiz SHOULD (and does on my phone) work properly...
im usually very against what i call the "band-aid" solutions to problems...many times people will just say "you can fix that if you root and freeze things, or run a custom rom." and while yes that works, the phone should also work as intended in its factory state...
but in this case i REALLY suggest a 3rd party launcher...it may change your entire outlook on Android...
for basic options...
ICS based launchers
- Nova (my current choice)
- Apex
Older launchers
- LPP (my all time fav, but the dev has basically abandoned the project)
- ADW EX
- Go Launcher
Well I don't know if its only me but touchwiz always slow so I preferred pure jelly bean on the SG SIII
guys~~ juz deactivate the sync gps when u dun use it~~ u can squeeze a day and a half out of it eaily
AnonD-36095, 07 Sep 2012I never complained about the battery, that was someone else! I just jumped in with my opinion... moresorry no issues with redraw on mine, takes like half a second longer but thats pretty much it
What about the galaxy s2???Can GSMARENA do a review on that too?
Anonymous, 07 Sep 2012btw most users and myself personally get roughly a days use without turning off all those feat... moreI never complained about the battery, that was someone else! I just jumped in with my opinion about turning off all the cool features. In my post I actually said I get about a days worth and that I am happy with the battery.
The 'Return to home screen lag' is my only problem with the phone, and I am convinced most people have the same problem but are just not aware of it due to how they use the phone.
Use your SGS3 and browse the web for about 5 mins clicking through to about 10 different pages (on this website) and then press your home button and see if it takes a lot longer than usual to redraw to home page.
I would appreciate peoples findings....

You seem to be well informed when it comes to Android.
Could you recommend a good app for editing .docx files?
I am presently using Polaris Office 4.0 but I’m just wondering if there is something better out there.
