The most popular ROM for the S3 is the Cyanogen one. You can find the latest version here:
That is for the International version of the i9300
Installation instructions can be found here:
Be aware though that you accept risks when you install custom ROM's and you so so at your own risk.
I still have not been able to figure out re- the Kit Kat upgrade for my S3 - model- GT-19300.Android 4.3 and Device name is GT-19300. Would some one kindly let me know whether my S3 will get an upgrade?
you can get 4.4 Kitkat by doing custom ROM on your s3 i9300
and you can also have the Samsung s5 firmware exactly on your S3 i9300 .. and can manage to enjoy ultra power saving .. and can fix some s3 issues
just search on google on the best custom rom for samsung s3 i9300 !!!!!!

The S3 is Qi compatible because I use that method as a secondary means of charging.
First you will have to purchase a Qi charger and a Qi receiver for an S3.
If you remove the back cover of your phone you will see two brass pins on the left of the battery. They are the charging pins for the Qi receiver. Place the receiver over your battery with the pins on it aligned with the pins on the phone. Replace the battery cover and place on the wireless charger.
You will also have to purchase a 2A micro USB charger as the receiver requires a charger with at least 1A output.
Also be aware that Qi charging is convenient but slow compared to a mains charger.
Finally, you have to place the phone squarely over the charger's coil. I have one of the new type of Qi charger, it has three coils instead of one. You might consider buying one of those. They aren't any faster but you can just place the phone anywhere on it and not worry if it is in the right place for charging.
I love my S3, but lately I'm having problems charging it. I have to hold the phone and cord together to keep the connection. I bought a new cord, and that didn't work either. Would one of those charging pads work with my phone? The description says the device you want to charge has to be Qi enabled. How do you find out if it is?
