AnonD-51869, 19 Jun 2012AM confused as am a complete noob if android is considered.guys just tell me y is that core qu... morewell i think u should go 4 d s3,u'll get 4.8in hd screen so u can edit photos with ease. The s3 has a quad core cpu but at d same time 2100mAh battery, so u don't need 2 worry abt d battery life.the s3 also has a good n fast camera.
The 808 pureview is also good.it has dolby digital plus, a 41 mp camera with great features.
If u need a phone with a good camera n sound go 4 d pureview. But if u want a phone with a longer battery life, in which u can edit photos with ease on a 4.8in screen, n also operate fast go 4 d s3.
BDDHK, 19 Jun 2012Just got my SIII yesterday, replacing SII.

AnonD-59715, 19 Jun 2012haha! bet you have an iPhone thats why you are badmouthing a phone which is simply the best sm... moreLMFAO...rol i like that, samsung is the leading company with respecxt to smart phones!!!!
AnonD-51869, 19 Jun 2012AM confused as am a complete noob if android is considered.guys just tell me y is that core qu... morefirst ill talk about symbian vs android
a year ago, i used my friends 5230 for a week, running on just 434 mhz processor and that to of old iteration i.e. armv6 instead of latest armv7, i was amazed how fast and responsive it can get, it was faster than anything on android with same type of processors
now add a broadcom gpu, 1.3 ghz processor( almost 3 times more powerful than on 5230)
and the latest os symbian^3, you get the idea how fast it can get but that,s it.
its fast but cant match anything like quad core performance like in android and soon ios
you also said there is no need for quadcore and i totally agree with you but ill go for s3 because of FUTURE PROFFING
you can compare 808 vs s3 now but think of a scenario 1 year later
ios features rouge sreies gpu, aderno 320 is available for windows and android, mali 604 has come be the new king and while your friends are with phones that have humongous power, you have a outdated gpu and a cpu from a very old iteration. while s3 will still hold its ground by being able to play anything you throw at it.
i dont think you would like to shell out 600$+ every year just to stay in date ( atleast i cant )
you might not need the quad core now but what about the future?
people also opposed intel for bringing quad on windows few years back but look now-after 2-3 years, even midrange cpu like i5 is quadcore.
even windows dont use quad core to it full potential in daily life, i mean you can get work done even with atom processor smoothly just like the 1.3 ghz on 808
but when there is a heavy workload like running a heavy game or photoshop, every one prefers i7, its the same with quadcore in sgs3 and htc one x
android might not need quadcore in daily life, it uses atmost two cores in day to day use but we have quadcore thats why we get latest games like max payne, gta, counter strike.
no os other than ios and android have recieved them
i mean these phones have power almost equal to the new psp
if phones with latest tech are available, i dot get why people start mocking it saying "we dont need quadcores, i can run my phone smoothly with single core"
you might not use it now what you never know what happens later!!
i just used my friends s2 recently i just for the sake of seeing the new ics task switcher of ics opened any app i could see on his phone and by the time i realised, i had already opened more than 23 apps from calc to music players, from maps to browser loading 1080p flash video, plants vs zombie to polaris editor, and the phone was still runing amazingly fast without any lag
this was dual core with 1 gb ram, make it quadcore and you get the idea of what you are getting from sgs3 against 808
808 has a great camera but i dont think you will be going around pics all the day and if you need to use camera at some time, s3 does good, almost at par with 4s and if there is any special ocasion, ill probably use my friends dslr instead of a mobile camera
808 will be nice but not till i see it in lumia phones with dual core a-15 and adreno 320 gpu.
but till then its of no use to me
one more thing, connectivity side of s3 is even better then 808, you get the usg otg on both ad i know both can even detect a hard drive but what i was really happy to see was its the first phone to have support for 5ghz a freq on wifi i.e. it has dual band wifi rather than supporting only 2.4 ghz freq
as for the app market, you may find a similar app for 808 but there are almost no new apps added to its market with only nokia making new apps and few others
but with android you can get about 700000 apps ( you can get a just just the way you wanted from a list of similar apps ) against 808 where a similar app will be there but will not exactly do as the way you wanted it
also taking account that there are dozens of app still added to the play store increasing the count
808- best camera ever seen, a great os-silky smooth, good for day to day use but if you like to toe with your phone by filling new apps, dont go with it
sgs3/android - latest tech, future proof, above avg camera with zero shutter lag and burst mode which can get things done when you need it, great appstore
about htx one x and sgs3, both are quadcore and run android so i think this video will provide one of the best available comparison between them
now first you have to decide about which os you want to go for
if its android only then see the video above to decide between sgs3 and htc one x
here's sgs usb otg demo connecting itself to 4 things all at one time.
rest is your choice
P.S i kind of like sgs3 for me and will be buying it soon but still i tried to be fair with all the phones above...:)
Held this in my hand yesterday. Quite disappointing. Will wait for a better phone for now.
Just curious what is the glass protecting the camera, is it same as the display gorilla glass 2??
I tried searching the internet but could not find the answer. Hope you could also include this info onto your full specifications.
Just got my SIII yesterday, replacing SII.
Looking into the device. Just got one inconvenience, while connecting to my Laptop via USB, it is connected as MTP device, hence I couldn't access my files from my Laptop. Any suggestion?
damn, this phone is a 1000$ in south africa, damn now thats expensive rather go for the nokia pureview for 699$.
AM confused as am a complete noob if android is considered.guys just tell me y is that core quad given to this , is der any photoshop etc,
i wanted 2 buy a fone but i came back , need help from you guys
my head was spinning 2 select 1 between htc 1 x,samsung galaxy s3 and nokia 808 pureview.
as per as my knowledge ,808 is having great p.s camera(41mp) fourty one mega pixel in addition with rich recording and dolby surround on ear phone.lacks thousands of app but u will find the app which u need.
htc is brilliant with animation and apps, can shoot and capture pic on the go(but i heard picture u capture while shooting is only 1.3mp whereas 2mp is needed to print a pic of 6x4 inches around 300 dpi.
sg3 again a gr8 innovation by samsung . s-beam,smart stay s-voice etc.
i was bout 2 buy sg3 but didnt.coz my research stated a low resolution screen.less or single core cpu enables a better battery life.coz at the end of the day i will have to transfer my pics and video on my desktop which has much more resolution.adding to tht nokia is having better SAR value so connectivity is better.
(sar- specific absorption rate ---radiation which is harmful 4 human body,,more than 1.6 sar is harmful but less than it is not harm.htc samsung all are making around 0.40-0.70 thus saves the battery but offers less connectivity of networks and wifi)
nokia compromises the screen cpu 4 connectivity.so getting a better battery life.plus a good music output in earphones.portable p.s camera. and adding to it i saw asphalt 6,spider man, dungeon hunter2,avatar games working on it
plz do help guys otherwise i might end up buying a nokia 808
yossup, 18 Jun 2012yea actually i tried with outlook express i had the same problem Actually there is nothing wrong with ICS 4 regarding Yahoo email. And there is nothing wrong with your outlook express also. It is with Yahoo itself, you need to log in first using the web browser of the unit you are using. Click remember when prompt. Then close the web browser without logging out. Now log in to Yahoo using the mail application and you will succeed. Good luck.
