I have an S4 that looks to be in perfect condition but it shows no signs of life. It doesn't charge batteries nor will it turn on with a charged battery. Any help?
I got one of these on it's release. Absolutely brilliant phone. I had it 3 1/2 years before the battery swelled and had to be replaced. I was still getting most of a day out of the charge at that stage and it was still running very smoothly.
I used it for another 6 months after getting a new battery (4 years overall), but unfortunately I smashed the screen when I dropped the phone flat on it's face. It had many falls up until this point but this one was particularly bad. Honestly, can't fault the S4.
I've had the S4 for more than 4 years. The screen is awesome. Battery life ok. The plastic sides are losing the paint. That's not so great. But for the rest this phone is very sturdy. It runs all useful Apps to communicate without a problem. I wait till it breaks down to get a new phone
Picked mine up about 5 or 6 years ago and shattered it in 3 months and after its abuse from then 14 year old me, I still use it. Last year my cousin got mad at me cussed me out and God smacked it on the ground. I still use it and can turn my data on 4G and it lasts about a work week on 1 charge. The only good phone made after that was the 5. Not GREAT video quality but motion blur helps remove it (which is what the 60fps option on YouTube literally is) and it has been a good phone. Btw it also has tape over the screen holding 97% of the shattered bits in place. So its been to he'll and back but it works fine.
Anonymous, 06 Dec 2018I bought it in 2013, and it is now resting in peace since an year..Gave my wife the S4 when it first came out. She still has it and it still is like new. In the same time I've been through 5 phones. Longevity is a human factor just as much as a quality factor :)
Kazuma, 15 Nov 2018Worth buying in 2018?I bought it in 2013, and it is now resting in peace since an year..
Kazuma, 15 Nov 2018Worth buying in 2018?its depend on what you need, if just for daily use, its still worth to buy, if for hunting latest heavy game, i prefer mi series, im not mifan thou, since it has huge ram/internal and have variety of decent "procie"
Kazuma, 15 Nov 2018Worth buying in 2018?Not worth. The processor is way too old for apps available nowadays. The phone runs slow for latest apps. Also some apps are not available to install which are not compatible with this mobile. You can go with better mobiles after the year 2016 which you can get for same price as this phone.
For good battery usage, please downgrade os from android 5.0.1 to android 4.2.2. Install TWRP 3.1.1, wipe system, data and cache. Install firmware 4.2.2 from external SD Card on TWRP.
It's normaly, this old phone and battery degradations of quality. Please buy a new battery of samsung galaxy S4.
Hi guys i need help. I have been useing this phone for 4 years. last year it started to turn off in the middle of playing or something. It shows that battery is on 50% and it suddenly stops working. After plugging in battery there is only 1%. I dont know what to do. Any advice?
Got this phone the day since it was launched, well almost. NEVER had any trouble. All the vacations from 2013 till 2018 I have the photos of them inside the device. Almost 3200 pictures plus some videos. Got some 8 Giga MP3's bunch of apps and still works smoothly as the day I bought it. Very good phone. I always turn off my phones at night whilst my wife does not. She also has the S4, it turns out that this phone is non-stop turned on and working from June 2013 till today October 2108. So this S4 has been constantly working for over 5 years without being turned off more than twice for one night and still the battery lasts a day.....great quality.
