Will the phone be back to it's default settings if I do an update? Will it delete everthing? I'm still downloading the update via kies and I just wanna know if it will delete everything when I update it. Replies will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The reason that manufacturers are not pre-installing Flash onto their phones is because it is a quick way to install viruses onto your phone. If however you want to install that archaic program then goto:
About 2/3 of the way down the page you should look for 'Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives'.
If you don't like the keyboard the phone comes with then change it! There is plenty of choice on the Google Play Store... Touchpal X, Swiftkey, Google, amongst others to choose from.
iOS and Windows both suffer with the same setback; they are both 'closed systems', which means that you can't change anything. Don't like the keyboard? Tough! You use the one we give you and like it. Don't like the messaging app? Tough! You use the one we give you and like it.
That's where Android scores. It is an open system and you can change whatever you want.
Good luck with Windows phone though. I hope you like it.
I hated iphone with a passion then swiched to the galaxy s4 that I was dreaming about for a while, and found it just as diapointing, the freaking thing cant even read flash!! Which we used to brag iphone about, tooooooo freaking un easy to use, tons of features but nothing life changing, and stuff the display I couldnt care less about it, just give me deasent technology that I colud actually use with no dumb restrictions, i cant even type or use tge keyboard with ease. I'm putting it up for sale tomorrow and perhaos try windows mobile this time arround.
[deleted post]Pls. do not insult writers of reviews. They seek advice from forums, since they are helpless and sometimes made helpless by Samsung. The I9505 really heats up on the screen near the top (speaker area), enough to burn the ear. This heat up I have noticed only when the screen is fully illuminated. The battery temperature is about 40 Centigrade. Battery heating up could be an additional issue for some I9505 phones.
stowe, 21 Oct 2013please anybody that contact Samsung tell them to do something about the overheating or anybody... moreHi Stowe, do not waste your time on complaining to Samsung, they are not helpful at all. They will never accept any liability but direct you to the vendor of the phone. You are correct, the I9505 heats up in few minutes, enough to burn your ear.

My daughter has an iphone with iOS7 on it, and it has been one disaster after another, with regular updates appearing to try and correct the mistakes Apple made by rushing it out untested.
At least Samsung have waited until the Firmware was tested properly. I haven't heard of any complaints about it so far, so it seems that the wait was justified.

You have NO idea of what you are talking about! Can you imagine what would happen if every user in the world tried to access the servers at the same time? They would go into meltdown. That is why it has to be done country by country.

Samsung is now making mockery of its users the update should have been out 2 weeks ago
I've completed the software update for mine but when I checked About Device it still shows 4.2.2 and when I try to do it again it says that it's already updated. Did I miss anything? Is there something else that I need to do?
Thanks in advance!
stowe, 21 Oct 2013please anybody that contact Samsung tell them to do something about the overheating or anybody... moreAll this rubbish about overheating is just that - Rubbish!
I have had my i9505 for two months now and have NEVER experienced any overheating problem. Three of my friends also have this phone - again, NO problems.
All this rubbish is like having a cold. One person sneezes and everyone else starts blowing their nose.

I have recently installed the test 4.3 jelly bean firmwire posted in Sam-mobile in my s4 i9505. Now the official firmwire has released.
1. Did I get the official update via ota or kies?
2. If not the how do I get the official update?
When I installed the test firmwire all my data has lost. So now if I use the official update of 4.3 will my data be lost again??
