Samsung is apparently looking to expand its Galaxy brand even further than before, this time to also encompass what seemingly will be a smart object tracker, akin to Tile. We're assuming this will work in concert with Samsung's SmartThings Find feature, which was unveiled recently. SmartThings Find can find compatible Galaxy products with more accuracy, and the upcoming Galaxy Smart Tag is going to be one of those.

But also, based on the name, it's most likely to be a smart object tracker, to compete with Tile. The Galaxy Smart Tag was certified by the Indonesian authorities with the model number EI-T5300.

This wouldn't be Samsung's first object tracker, that honor goes to the SmartThings LTE-enabled tracker from two years ago. Right now it's unclear how connected the Smart Tag will be - if it sticks to just Bluetooth as other products in the market, or goes with additional stuff like UWB, LTE, and/or GPS as well.

That said, we wouldn't be surprised if this gets official alongside the Galaxy S21 family at the oft-rumored mid-January event, so there isn't much time for us left to be waiting around with our assumptions.

If it require Wi-Fi or Data to work, I'll laugh so hard, certainly not a data gathering stuff, how could it be, it isn't as if Samsung often do that 🤣

Going to be a awkward moment when you find out Samsung already had this concept in 2018
