Samsung Omnia about to hit the shelves, coming with a free Xbox 360

Samsung Windows Mobile Touch UI

Samsung i900 Omnia, one of the hottest mobile phones of the year, is just about to hit the European shelves. The official launch event will be held only a week from now in Italy where the Omnia will debut.

The otherwise impressive Samsung i900 Omnia will make an appearance with an unsurpassed bundle. A free Xbox 360 gaming console will be available to users who pre-order the device.

Yeah, you got that right – everyone who places a pre-order on the Samsung i900 Omnia (as of July 14) will receive a free Xbox 360 once the handset actually starts retailing.

Orders can be placed through Media World stores across Italy. Sounds quite a deal at 499 euro (for the 8GB version) a piece, doesn’t it? This is not a subsidized price so prices will become even more affordable once mobile carriers take the plunge.

The Samsung i900 Omnia will hit the Italian market on July 22 and will be available in all major European countries and other GSM markets before the end of August.

Based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, the Samsung i900 Omnia offers a 3.2-inch WideQVGA display (240 x 400 pixels) and an optical mouse much like the one found in the Samsung i780. Samsung i900 Omnia is also boasting a 5 megapixel auto focus snapper with face and smile detection plus auto-panorama shot. Geotagging is also among the camera features since the i900 also packs a built-in GPS receiver.

As style has it, the Samsung i900 Omnia waistline is only 12.5mm and the brushed metal back certainly adds to its refined looks. 8 and 16 GB versions of the Omnia will be available with all of them sporting a microSD card slot for expanding the memory even further.

What to do if you buy Omnia, and open package after several weeks when you discover that there is no 8 Gb of memory. Would Media World accept it?
