Apple did start some trends yes, but not all of it. Also like mentioned Apple did not create the capacitive touch screen. It may be true that Apple sped things up on a few thing, but that at the most is it. Also, many many phones have come out that are better then the iphone there are just to many people that are crazy for it for the name but as far as advanced technology and better working phones there has always been phones out there for every iphone generation that were way better. The thing didnt even record video until 3gs! If a company only comes out with one phone every so often then they should have the easiest time ever over all companies to have the most advanced cutting edge technology and until doing a better job with the i4 aftering only having three phones they never even came close. It was all just because it said apple on it. The iphone itself was an lg copy. And it used the capacitive screen samsung had and uses samsung cpu's. With the demand of the latest technology people would always be wanting a better faster, more touch friendly, and some more app filled phone. There you go, Apple extremely sped up the app fetish. Thats the most they did. And there has been many tablets befoere the ipad and a lot are better just like the samsung. As far as popularity apple will always be high on the pedistool but in reality there has always been and always will be something not theirs in it, something copied, and somethng way more advanced.

Give any thing a unique name, people comment about good or bad, the product becomes popular. I wanted to give the new OS like butterbread or apple pie. But I wonder if GOOGLE will accept it. Ha ha ha

hey you guys that suggest this device to be smaller. are you even getting the point here? there's galaxy s practically a lot better pecs than this but its a fon and it has 4" screen and definitely smaller than this so y come here and compare phones. this is made to compete tablets and netbooks tha's y it has 7" screen some people even complain it to be still too small.

one of the most positive traits of this tab is its phone functionality, but the question that concern us is whether it can replace ur phone or not, seriously smartphones became a must because of their netbook and tablets functionality, now that we got a flawless tablet the question is can this tab be used as a phone easily ??and is it realy portable and handy???
if it will succeed in this test i presume that this will be the raise of a new high tech device and most probably ...smart phones will soon come to extinction...

FFS, stop talking about the Altec Leo, that's a camera smartphone and this is a tablet/smartphone... they're in a completely different league here.
Can't believe that Samsung didn't use at least an AMOLED screen for this awesome device, but at that low price estimated by another user, a few comments back (300$), i can't complain. This will be a major success, i surely will buy it and who knows, maybe replace my phone entirely :)

I prefer ALTEK LEO... moresamsung tab is not a phone it is a tablet pc so stop comparing it to your ugly looking altec leo phone.
and if are looking for a smart phone go for phones built by nokia,samsung,apple,htc,lg,motorola or sonyericsson and don't pay your money for the unknown altec.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2010that's what they said about the iphone. and look at it now, there's still no phone who killed ... moreIt just so happened that it is the way of life on earth.. where we are always left with OPTIONS.. and SAMSUNG did it for the consumers.. this is business.. on different aspects of life there would always be competitors.. and competitions will make you sharpen your flaws..:)) it really doesn't matter what device you choose.. there's no right or wrong device.. there's no crap or gold here.. the important is no matter what device exist out in the market, people will always decide on if it is the right device for the right people.. cheers..

You know what guys, SAMSUNG TAB P1000 wi... morethat's what they said about the iphone. and look at it now, there's still no phone who killed it yet. everyone even didn't like the idea of touchscreens, but look at it now. despite of restrictions, the iphone still started the touchscreens for smartphones and set it as a standard. seriously, where do you think all these multi-touch tech, touch friendly ui's, slick ui's, appstores, and capacitive technology come from? it all started 'cause of iphone. before the iphone existed, all the touchsreens we had were stupid resistive technology with stupid touch ui's. and i remember there weren't even any app stores yet. it was still stupid websites were you enter your credit card info and download the app, and then finally transferring to your phone and then installing it. but now the appstores changed it. which apple brought.
the same thing goes for the ipad. everyone thought it would be a huge fail. but after just a few days, it sold millions. and look at all the other companies now, they're making tablets like crazy. even this samsung crap copied it's ui and all these 'gyroscope' stuff ame from apple. sorry, but i doubt these companies would even make these tablets in the first place without apple. the truth hurts. i'm not being a 'fanboy'. this is just true. even you know that. i dont think that neat touchphone on your hand would even exist if it weren't for apple.

for those who missed my previous post, here it is:
You know what guys, SAMSUNG TAB P1000 will surely be a greater hit than an apple ipAd.. you know why? because the apple ipAd has some feature restrictions such as multitasking is (-)negative, the microsim on an iPAD is only used for internet browsing, there is no dialing/calling/text messaging feature. while on a SAMSUNG TAB those restrictions are allowed, or shall i say SAMSUNG p1000 is a merger of a smartphone & a netbook per say..:)) Samsung Tab can do more than what a typical ipAd can, Samsung p1000 tab can perform calling/dialing/video conferencing,text messaging, take pictures, record/play videos, & many more..we can call this device as "HYBRID"..because it is a combination of a smartphone & a netbook:)) SAMSUNG P1000 is the Real Must-Have High-tech Gadget than an apple iPAD..because APPLE devices always have restrictions/limitations of features..on the other hard, SAMSUNG P1000 will give you the freedom of so-called "Multitasking MultiMedia" or vice versa..
And on my own opinion, i guess this is the answer for those people who need a device with more capabilities.. features that are way beyond what an apple ipAd can do..an all in one gadget like SAMSUNG TAB P1000!:)) Cheers..

first, compare the specifications, styling, features, power, & prices of the device if it is all worth the amount you pay for it..it's like buying a car..;))
