Initially, it was running 2.2.2 (carrier-unlocked / European firmware) with calling feature enabled (of course).
The first thing I did was root the device (achieved via z4root). I have since updated to 2.3.3 (baseband P1000UBJP3|kernel v2.6.35.7 se.infra@SEP-52 #2|build # gingerbread.XXJQ1). Root and CWM-based recovery were achieved via kernel swap (check XDA). I have always found stock firmware(s) offer the best battery life (coupled with Juice Defender Ultimate), so I won't be flashing a custom ROM anytime soon (especially with diminished development support).
My only minor complaint is that it only charges via AC (but, I guess that's to be expected given its specs).
Games are awesome; video playback is brilliant.
I paid $400 brand new, and have no regrets whatsoever (10.1" is just way to be big to double as a communication device).

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2011I upgrade mine to gingerbread 2.3.3 about 3 months ago... Is there any newer OS version now??I just updated mine today. i dont know what improvements my tab will have. its still gingerbread but upgraded. i'll try to post if i noticed any improvements.

Best device in its class. Have owned it gor six months. No problems. It is my everyday mobile computer/workstation. With a 32gb card it is a fully functiional multi purpose device. Thumbs up. 5 star device.

Guys, i'm having a problem with the email. It just vanished in front of my eyes everytime i synched it. I read in android forum that many users are having same problem as mine but the solution they posted kinda unclear. Did any of you experience this? Kindly share some tips.
Do you know if this problem is applicable to all Android OS ?
