My experience withp1000 is a very bad bad bad experience.
I got my first one and afyer couple of days it started making problems withe screen , which was switching off by it self and doesnt go back on untill i press the side button for tens of times or even forcing reboot. I went to the service center in amman who checked it first time and opened it to check the internal parts and informed me that no problems were found. Although they witnessed the problem. Same day evening i had the same problems. So i went again to them and they said i should leave it for checking, i left it for the next day and i was informed that they changed the screem assembly which should fix the problem. A days after that the screen showed another symptoms of malfunction and in turn i gave it back to them for repair and they changed the acreen again but the problem still existed. The policy of the company is to change the device after 3 consequent unsuccessful repair attempts and to that i had to fight against the regional office guys for about a month period of time in which i met them twice or twice and i sat with about 4-5 engineers and it guys who were trying to convince me that there is nor problem because they disnt see it personally.
As an electrical engineer i know what going inside the device

you can upgrade your sgtab p1000 from froyo to gingerbread 2.3.3 ver using your samsung kies. if you don't have the kies you can download the file from samsung.com. once you've download the file, install the kies into your computer (windows/mac) once you installed the file...,
1st go to Samsung Galaxy Tab Settings then Wireless and networks, choose the USB Settings and select the Samsung Kies.
2nd Now open the application samsung kies on your computer and connect the usb cable of your
gt-p1000 to your computer.
3rd there should be a pop up message requesting for update of your p1000. (upgrading of your phone will takes time but not quite) It's up to you if you want to back up all your files, but in my case i didn't back up all my files (data, contacts, music, movies, downloaded files, etc.) anyway once i have done the upgrade it didn't affect my files, because if i back up my files it will prolong the process of upgrading.

All these gave a big burden in your back. And now you are getting it all for just 380 gm and additionally you get calling and other multimedia options with it.. And you guys are still complaining about its size.. come on guys.. grow up. Live in the present but don't forget the past.
Using tab in my experience. Its a great device with all i need. I didn't feel uncomfortable by keeping it in my jeans pocket. I use a Bluetooth headset with it and i am feeling all very right. All the best guys.

hi all..i installed kies today on my laptop which is win vista..the problem is that when pressing yes to the firmware update it download components for the update, but then when pressing ok on installing i got a message from windows telling me that a problem encountred and that kies should be closed, the update window dosn't get closed but it takes for ever stuck on saying (firmware update will proceed) and (preparing firmware update components).. any1 noe wat is the problem? thank u :-)

i have one query.i have been using tab for 2 months but i feel the internet whe... morewell i think logic for that is greater data involved in galaxy tab thats why its relatively slow
nokia has a crappy os that is symian may use less load
try using your tab on wifi and see how it works
althought i think on 3g sim it shud work fine

just updated the latest froyo version via kies. the tab works great very smooth but still have battery issue. where is gingerbread soon or never?

Hi everyone
i have one query.i have been using tab for 2 months but i feel the internet when worked with sim card is too slow on tab but when you use the same sim in nokia phones
they work fine,i have tried all the operators in my circles but nokia always outperformed it.say i buffer videos on youtube on my nokia e90 it was always faster than on tab.sometimes the tab works on blazing fast speed and sometimes it wont even load google even on 3g.then i switch it to offline mode and back again to network mode,but its a naive technique,it doesnt work all the time.it is so irritating you have a 3g plan but the speed settles to 5 kbps.two of my friends also have the tab they also have the same complaint.do you people also face the same problem?
