Just to answer a whole load of questions here:
1. Yes a 800x480 is far superior to a 320x240 screen. And OLED is noticeably better then LCD. However you are limited by how much the manufacturer uses it in their software. SAMSUNG use it in the browser and home screen, but not much in the rest of their apps.
2. This is not a SMART phone. Therefore you are limited to the inbuilt software and extra JAVA apps you can install. Saying that the inbuilt software is comprehensive and covers: facebook (link), youtube, email (pop & imap), browser, weather (accu), google mail, google search, CNN mobile, kelkoo search, myspace (link), notepad and a bunch of other widgets that can be shown at will.
3. There is no MS office capability.
In summary, this is a very well designed touch screen phone which is a pleasure to use and does most of what folk want it to do. I especially like the leather case included which allows you to answer the phone without taking it out of the case! However it is not a smart phone and is not a natural competitor for an HTC Hero, Magic, Diamond 2 or a Nokia N97 say. That does have advantages, as the Jet does what is says on the Tin reliably, and doesn't get over complicaterd fiddly or crash all the time (at least mine never crashes with the latest firmware).
KaiShin, 15 Sep 2009In Korea they have the Jet in Pink and white, touch screen is bigger "3.7" plus an additional ... morehi, the korean version is almost identical to omnia II and its 3.5 inch amoled touch screen not 3.7.almost all phone for the korean market has dmb tv reciever which cant work outside korea since dmb tv system is exclusively for korea, the counterpart of this in other country is the dvh tv.almost all phones also in korea has no wifi, even arena and other latest phones.
Can i use the camara in the front for picture taking? if so. how do i do it??
also, are there any applications or themes online availiable for the jet??? ( probabaly posted before..)
Lastly!!! how do u install msn on jet?
Do you really feel that the screen with its high resolution and AMOLED is way superior to ''normal'' screens? specially 240*320 ones?
I mean even the Omnia HD and the Idou have lower resolution and Omnia2/HTC Diamond 2 65k only...it's perhaps the best screen ever!

My warmest greeting to all of you. I am a Mauritian and I bought a cell from ebay.com and to my great surprise, it's a locked cell, from T-Mobile UK carrier. Please, can anyone tell me where can I get an unlock code. I really need your help and I can't even use my cell. Please, do me a favour to give me any reliable website where I can buy an unlock code.
I will always be grateful to all of you.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Lots of Love, Care and Respect.
Jet, 15 Sep 2009Widgets are not applications, so even if more widgets are created for the jet, it does not mak... moreIts a matter of taste. I had an iphone for 3 months. I also had an HTC Magic. I liked the magic much more then the iphone. The user interface of android is truely stunning for a first generation OS.
BTW You are right about widgets. But an SDK would be great and if SAMSUNG open out the os it would be great.
In terms of comparison with the iphone, this is less then half the price, has a higher resolution screen, a better camera and a faster CPU. I think the OS (on the latest firmware) is pretty amazing. Good browser (not as good as android or iphone but still fine to sue), reliable (I mean toshiba takes bog std WM 6.1 and mucks that up), easy to use. For sending emails, sms, music, browsing, and yes, normal tlephone calls, the jet is a really solid phone. nice to use. and comes with a case! which you don't even have to take off to answer, nice!. I think this is a great package. I hope Samsung stick with TouchWiz. I love competition
harold, 15 Sep 2009truely excellent. probably the best touch non-smartphone out there. now if Samsung release a S... moreWidgets are not applications, so even if more widgets are created for the jet, it does not make a real difference.
You will not have for example a widget storing locally tons of information, without accessing the internet, like an application does.
And even if some widgets, store locally some offline info, such as games, these will be limited and far few between.
No comparison to the power, variety and depth of applications.
Regarding android, you are right, I have not used it so I cannot comment on it. Do you think the touch screen experience is better than that of the iphone?
Jet, 15 Sep 2009I agree with this reply.
We are not saying the Jet is not a good phone. We are saying it is... morenice comments but you have not used android. A true competitor to the iphone and Samsung is coming out with loads
truely excellent. probably the best touch non-smartphone out there. now if Samsung release a SDK for TouchWiz and get some more widgets out, then it'll become a smartphone. It takes guts to release a phone with this power and not use WM, s60 or android. Good on yer Samsung!
Ok you can get it from here:
Can you edit widget like changing pics used by the widgets??
Anonymus: yes, offline profile is the same as "flight mode" and don't need restart
(I can't tell you anything about future copy/paste. I'm a user not a developer of samsung ;) )
Terminator: if you have a link to SE tracker, I can test it for you
Sujay_Bose: Yes, you can view (but not edit) pdf and doc files. (maybe more, I haven't tested else jet)
Tan: it charges about 2,5 hours for me
Prash: you are a genius! Thanks for the torch solution!
And my question: did anyone managed to set up skype on Jet. At the moment Skype doesn't have Jet version. Witch one did you use?
