i wanted this phone, most cause its design, camera, display..
but after read that it is slow and battery life is bad i dont think so..
I am thinking of getting this phone but these cons kinda make rethink :
1) No Wi-Fi
2) Poor battery life
3) No Qwerty even for sms ? (correct me if I'm wrong guys)
I have the phone now for one week. The phone is very slow and touch screen not good. Touch screen is not smooth as it should of been.
Battery life is also short. It was expensive phone too. Hope Omnia HD not same as this phone.
john , 13 Apr 2009whats the mean of divix how can i use that can any one tell medivx is a codec (a piece of software if you like) that enables you play movies on the phone that use the divx codec. Similar to mp4 formats, wma etc. divx movies tend to be small files (Compression) but with excellent playback quality. i.e. a 2 hour movie on a dvd is between 4-6gb big whereas the same quality in divx will only be about 700mb-800mb

Have this phone a few days and it's taking me a while to get used to as it's my first experience of a touchscreen but that's not samsungs fault! Find I'm actually faster now on the touchscreen texting than the keypad! But have to be perfectly still & not walking or in a car to achieve that!! When you're inputting a new word on the predictive text you can't add an apostrophe as all the symbols aren't available. Discovered its easier not to enter them for normal words like won't can't etc cos its actually there in the list of predictive words. I find the internet a bit slow and it's annoying about the editing of a text and also it's a small gripe but when downloading emails you've to download the new mails first and then you've to retrieve the content of the mail so it takes twice as long as getting them on a nokia. But my biggest gripe is the battery. It's shockingly bad. Doesn't even last a day & when I go back to work Tuesday & will be using it more for calls I can imagine it'll be lucky to last the working day! Is there any hope that they'll release a new battery specifically for the phone. I'm surprised in this day & age that any phone could be released with such a poor battery especially considering some of the other models have far superior battery life. I know the applications drain it but come on Samsung, get with it.
Just a quick question do all samsung chargers fit this phone, as in will it be easy for me to get an in car charger??

Jappie, 11 Apr 2009Text and photo? get it! The most perfect phone for that usage.I have to say I got one last week and it is a beautiful piece of kit. Lovely colours on the big screen (bet it's great for movies) and solid, well built feel. I found web browsing fast (on O2) so was only a bit miffed without the Wi-fi.
Took it back and got a Sony 905.
Trouble is I was after the key-pad for speed dial (which i soon discovered it does not have). The favourates on the widgets only give you 3 numbers at you cannot use it safely to make a quick call whilst driving. Plus bluetooth car kit does not auto-answer.
Only 2 widgets to download at the moment as well. The lack of direction button makes texting a pain if you miss-spell or need to correct as you have to use your finger to accurately spot the place in the text.
To make a simple phone call to someone seemed so much work. You also have to be "just so" with the touch screen. Volume buttons help to navigate and all lovely and clear but not enough.
Camera seemed great.
So many little niggles... I even rang the Samsoung helpline to try and sort things out. They were very helpful but noted the missing features and many people complaining. There may be a software update in the future to help but no promises.
Really lovely thing and I so wanted to keep it but just not practical for me. The 905 just starts and works.
If you understand what you want then this is a great item. As a phone I was disapointed.
