Just discovered that if you are in a list (contacts, other long menus) the volume controls allow you to scroll up and down, this is a major major plus. Using the widgets to switch on the fly between the radio and MP3 playback is nice. This phone is growing on me.

Battery life is quite short.
When picture is snapped, the picture reviewed is enlarged.
Anyone knows how to correct this?
Phone's resolution is great, touch screen is not too overly sensitive.
as a said before...LG GD900 will be the bombastic release this year!!It has everything and something more...!!It´s a "samsung S8300", but complete, better and with everything...and some more cute details!!
samsung should have done a better "homework" study of the market needs!!this s8300 is a beauty cellphone, but a BIG MISTAKE too!

Could anybody tell me which route 66 will work on this phone?
I found that route 66 will work but I dont see this is neither symbian nor windows mobile.
One website seems to have the info but was different language.
Anyone have these issues: a) Zooming while recording video causes the zoom to jump creating very jerky playback. b) Very obvious distortion in video audio recording. c) Zooming in on photos in the photo viewer only zoomins in a tiny amount even at 10x. (This must be a bug.) dd) Cannot enter more than about 12 characters in the first field of a calendar entry. (I know this is more a social/camera phone, so the latter issue not critical.) Despite the above, a very cool social and camera phone. Not enough battery life or quick access PIM/PDA features for business tho. (Unlike the Nokia E71 that gets all that stuff right.) Why cannnot someone make a phone that blends the S8300 with an E71 and Xenon flash?
What kind of GPS Software runs on this phone? What kind of OS does it have?
oh please samsung people, why oh why didn't you guys include wifi???
this phone has practically everything i want but it has no wifi...
if this phone has a wifi then this would be the best phone there is right now...
bad idea samsung...
I got this phone 3 days ago I bought it as unlock phone. The design is cool. Very elegant. But I do have problem connecting to the internet. AT&T can't solve the problem. The touch screen design is OK but iphone is still the best when it comes to touch screen. Could anyone tell me how to remove the music player icon from the "desktop"? Hope my carrier AT&T could help me to connect this phone to their network so that I could enjoy the full potential of this phone.

why did samsung release a new phone without wifi???
realy makes no sense...
Pep, 03 Apr 2009I just tried out the phone and I must say, it disapoint me. Its like Im holding a F480 (wich i... moreI have had an S8300 for a few days, and it's not slow if you don't use the widget screen. Switch to the apps screen and it's almost real time. Some things a a tiny bit laggy (such as the photo viewer), but you have to remember, it is manipulating 4MG files - 4 times the size of those on the snappier iPhone. There are some clever features, such as Fake Call (LOL) and the interface that appeard during a call is nice - very iPhone like in fact. No, it's not an iPhone, but it's fun and logical to use once you know all the ins and outs. Camera quality is mind blowing in good light.
