InCoGnItO, 12 Jun 2010Hey but it hasn't been officially mentioned anywhere..check out the samsung site and even gsma... more I intend to buy a wave and I`ve searched the whole web for ram memory, Samsung site is shity so i found on pdadb some detailed info http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2247&view=1&c=samsung_gt-s8500_wave_2gb . I don`t know how accurate are the infos, especially because the data is shown to be posted on february.
gov, 13 Jun 2010I got a very important question:
Any official word from Samsung about FIRMWARE UPGRADES in ... morePinoys...
No Wave yet in Baguio City...
@Gov
That specs is quite surprising. I have my wave but from Europe. Built is very good. What you see in the videos and reviews, thats what you get. There are June FWs already but i havent tried flashing yet till I get a feedback what are the improvements. One said it (JF1) makes the fone faster... In fact ther are asian FW versions...
Based on the specs sheet of S8500 (philippines):
User memory is only 397MB, not 2GB.
Card support up to 8 gb, not 32GB.
No AGPS (which is fine with me).
It has NFC.
My worries:
The amount of ram,
The graphics chip engine used,
If the phone still use a 1ghz processor,
And, video playback capability.
The Samsung Philippine website failed to mention S8500 got a 1 ghz processor and its video player. Is it a telltale sign that something is missing?
Could anyone clear this up? Really appreciate you response guys.
Chris, 13 Jun 2010Why is it that in Samsung Philippines, the maximum SD card for wave was only 8 gig?
http://... moreNot only that. It seems that AGPS is also missing in the S8500 Philippine version. It's understandable. But I don't like the sound of it. It looks like Samsung are producing S850s with specific parts for different markets. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not only the 32 gig card support and agps that's missing in the Wave philippine version. Got me wondering why such the low price.
To all pinoy s8500 owner's. How's the build quality?
Guess i'll have to wait few more months before i buy this phone.
Somebody help me please, wht is the default security password for this phone? i have this phone for a month already, and i have tried 00000000 or 1234 or 0000 nd it never works, i never change the default one because i don't know the password..please help me...
Chris, 13 Jun 2010S8500 = 2 gig version S8500L = 8 gig versionThanks Chris!! :)

has anyone manage to put a 16gig or even 32gig SD cards to their waves?

I got a very important question:
Any official word from Samsung about FIRMWARE UPGRADES in the future?
Having read some posts, it seems Samsung have a POOR track of record when it comes to providing updates to their phones once they release it.
I consider after-sales support very important. Particularly firmware updates.

brynn, 13 Jun 2010Should have read ,,my typing is not so good,,not typing is not so good making it sound like it... moreTnx brynn. I can type well using an Iphone though I'm a Blackberry user. I agree though the Wave seems to be a great phone for the price, that's why I worry that I'll be poorer when I again change my fone, this time to a Samsung wave. :)
brynn, 13 Jun 2010I cant find the main menu icon like the 9 blue squares on gsm picture either altho samsung is ... moreShould have read ,,my typing is not so good,,not typing is not so good making it sound like its the waves fault when its my lack of practice....
