Cortex-A8 RM 1GH... moreOmg, i cant believe u're really comparing this to c5, c5 is a budget phone with symbian s60,if u could use c5's price to get something similar to ur wave then u could officially say c5 is a stupid phone
snapdragon has been out for like few months? u should compare this to the NEW 1.3 or 1.5 ghz processors
this is the ultimate phone in 2010, no other phones comes close, innovative first:
1. bluetooth 3.0
2. super amoled screen
3. smart os for all (super bada)
4. ARM Cortex A8 1GHz a.k.a hummingbird (snapdragon is inferior on energy effeciency and cannot do a full 1080 HD recording.)
oh man i think i'm about to crap my pants i can't wait till this hit the shelves.samsung why are making me wait,

We all know samsung's cpu is the fastest out there so saying nokia is going for a 1ghz snapdragon is like uhh okay 0.o. Goodluck for them investing in a slower cpu lol!

Cortex-A8 RM 1GHz included in Hummingbird Samsung processor family. What is really interesting is that the CPU core is combined with graphical POWERVR SGX540 who can run 89 million polygon per second. that you call delicate
Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset only able to handle 22 million polygon per second
and what u call for snapdragon? coma disease?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Samsung S5PC110 the most powerful processor around?
Gearlog site has recently been successfully disassemble the hardware used by Samsung S8500 Wave, ranging from the Super AMOLED display, a camera capable of recording HD video, memory to processor, all using products made by Samsung itself, so of course in addition to cutting production costs, as well can maximize the use of hardware. And the most attention, of course, when it comes to brains behind all of the performance of this Wave smartphone.
Wave S8500 supported by the latest CPUs, S5PC110 Samsung application processor cores based on core ARM Cortex-A8 1GHz included in Hummingbird Samsung processor family. What is really interesting is that the CPU core is combined with graphical POWERVR SGX540 who can run 89 million polygon per second. If we compare it in a broader context, the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset can only handle 22 million polygon per second, which 3GS iPhone also uses artificial Samsung CPU, S5PC100, can run a 28 million polygon per second, while the popular game consoles, PSP, "just" capable of handling 33 million polygon per second.
CPU performance of current Samsung S5PC110 can only equaled the latest chipsets made by Nvidia, which is claimed Tegra 2 can run 85-90 million polygon per second. Unfortunately there is currently no single device that use Nvidia artificial brain, so we can not know the ability "real" from Tegra 2 to be compared with the Samsung S5PC110.
Samsung S5PC110 key features:
- 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor based application.
- Uses 45-nanometer (nm) low power fabrication process.
- Has 32KB data and 32KB instruction caches and a 512KB L2 cache.
- Housed in a 0.5mm pitch, 14 x 14mm2 FBGA package.
- 1080p Full HD codec engine that supports full 30fps HD video playback and recording.
- Built-in HDMI 1.3 interface allows output of captured or downloaded mobile multimedia contents to an external digital high definition display.
- High speed 3D graphics rendering with a powerful built-in POWERVR SGX540 3D graphics engine, licensed from Imagination Technologies.

ajinkya, 21 Mar 2010i think that creating the bada os is a pretty smart move from samsung. apple uses the iphone o... moregreat and nice statement! i started to think that samsung would put this Bada into another platform (tablet for example), and your idea about mp3 player is great! i can't believe if they don't do that.
i think that creating the bada os is a pretty smart move from samsung. apple uses the iphone os on both iphone and ipod touch. i think all the apps work on ipod touch. microsoft has just made the windows phone 7 series. and the apps for windows should work on zune hd2 or whatever the new zune will be called. i am sure that samsung will launch a mp3 player on bada os so that the mp3 player will have all the apps on bada store compatible with it.
and think of the possibilities.
a samsung mp3 player with super amoled, samsung's own processor, bada os and the bada apps. plus samsung is known for sound quality and it has dnse.
it will be a real hard competetion for ipod touch.
and if there is an mp3 player with bada os, more developers will be interested in making apps for bada os. so, samsung will have quite a few number of devices(phones and mp3 players) running on bada os and developers can't neglect it.
this in turn will help samsung's own phones.
really really smart move from samsung
