AnonD-27987, 28 Dec 2011err sorry for my rather....lengthy post :/Hello carloud, if we flash, installed apps/games will be lost or not? And do we need to redownload the whole data? Like i have got some 8-10 hd games worth abt 4gb on card. I have read that it will stay there; but as icons will be lost, on redownloading that very data will b recovered or whole 4gb have to downloaded agn.
oh and when someone calls you
there's an artwork in the background...similar to the one in the music player in bada 1.2 hohoho it's nice to look at
and on the music player side
there are now different artworks for playing music without cover art hohoho nice!
well in my case...I never had a problem with fruit ninja spoofed for my s8500 hohoho!
well anyhow I couldnt resist the urge to finally try out the bada 2.0 kk7 firmware(so far the latest beta build) coming from 1.2 I really didnt know what to expect, was also very nervous that something might happen to my phone like bricking...
just a friendly reminder...flashing from 1.2 to bada 2.0 you also need to include "FOTA" in the multiloader not shut "apps"I didnt know that I also had to include "FOTA" when I flashed my phone the first time for bada 2.0..when suddenly the phone flashed white with a warning "FOTA not installed please install FOTA 2.0"
so I exited multiloader from the pc, took out the battery of the phone and immediately entered download mode again....and fortunately it worked after putting fota accordingly (its already included in the firmware just click FOTA on multiloader)
SO tada....right now Im having a great time with bada 2.0
seems like most guys in the youtube have covered whats new with bada 2.0 like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBPUMP0WWUc
but there are some points that havent been mentioned like
bada 2 kk7 (the latest in badadownload.com) is actually smooth already...
compared to bada 1.2 it stutters just a bit
I consider wave bada 1.2 and iphone 4 as benchmarks in smoothness of the User interface or when browsing the menu
its like bada 2.0 kk7 is at about 95% as smooth as bada 1.2
there are some slight stutter here and there... but those stutters dont really ruin the experience and you'll probably get used to it and not be able to notice it after awhile...
speed in browing on the menu is very much the same as the galaxy ace ^^
there's no asphalt 5 this time around....there's a seperate folder for jave games promptly named "java" with its trademark logo hohoho!
almost everything that 1.2 has is in bada 2.0 and more
but 1 kinda important part missing here
I was so used in "waking up" the screen using the end call keys and the call key, in bada 1.2 you can enable this at the settings so you dont really need to use the lock key that much, as for me, it was abit awkward...to use the lock key just to wake the screen from idle mode.
but here in bada 2.0...it seems you cannot program the "end call key" nor the "call key" to wake the screen up from idle screen lock....:/ hope they put this feature back in the final official version.
one other thing...
the camera key and the virtual camera shutter key works flawlessly...yoiu can use the camera key and the virtual shutter key without hassle
touch focus while recording a video works like iphone 4, you touch the screen and the camera focuses on where you touched...
one big gripe is that it seems they took out the setting of adjusting the "contrast, hue, saturation"
this is a big deal for me because as we all know these hd cameras are great when there is alot of light...but on night time the captured detail by the camera are very low/dark that alot of night time videos are unusable without using the led flash
n95 beats the iphone 4 and the wave in this regard....it is able to capture more detail than these hd cameras even without using its night mode
now I appreciated the fact that in bada 1.2 you can adjust the contrast...it greatly helps its low light performance....adjusting the slider to "-2"
but in bada 2.0....this option is gone >_< I wonder why?
and another thing, recording a video in 1280x720 HD the phone randomly prompts that "memory card does not support this resolution" then ends the record (its kind enough to save the video though) most of the time this happens at the 28 second mark
and it saves the video rather...slowly takes about 8 seconds to save the 28 second hd clip....longer if the "memory card does not support this resolution" shows up.... :/
have no problems recording in 720x480(d1) resolution though
video is smooth and is as good as bada 1.2 only with TOUCH FOCUS ala iphone 4!!!! ^_^
another concern that people seem to have btw is the battery life
battery life seems to be roughly the same as bada 1.2 in this kk7 release...so its still great hohoho!
bada 2 has a battery percentage indicator too so it really helps alot in knowing how much battery life we have left hohoho!
all in all....bada 2.0 kk7 is very stable right now
aside from the problems that I had recording videos in 1280x720
I found it to be alot more stable and reliable so far than bada 1.0 and 1.1 hohohoho!
and the visual eye candy of the menu is really great....feels like android gingerbread ^_^
one of the most stylish set and very successful in every field. and also preity color.in last i love it.
AnonD-5583, 28 Dec 2011"u hate it so much, coz deep inside u actually love it, n cant wait for update" Tha... morei've already sold my phone, because samsung thinks of us as if we are slaves and not free people ,it keeps on lying and lying and wants us to keep using the phone that is full of bugs ,as you know bada 1.2 has a big memory problem ,always asking for closing the widgets when ever u try to run 3rd party app,the phone some times restarts by it self, and we still after previously promised by 10000 apps in the end of 2010,we only got about 8000 apps most of them are useless and full of ugly themes,we still do not have opera browser ,no nimbuzz,no skype,no viber,no google maps,no angry birds, fruit ninja filled with issues and no online options, plants vs zombies also has problems, the office app is very bad it can't run large pdf files, and u know what made me sell the phone is that i tried the beta bada 2.0 and the memory issue of bada 1,2 was not fixed,so please do not let other people do our mistake, and stop promoting to this disaster phone and its disaster bada os.

That sums up the truth :)
I dont think even the biggest of haters will sale off their wave1/2 that easily.
for those who hate ur wave my advise is throw your wave and destroy it or you can sell it. just dont say negative thing on the phone still we are lucky because we can get update even it is a new os. you hate ur wave because deep inside your heart you like it to much and you cannot wait much longer and that because it has many great things and enhancement and has potential to improved and if you are from bada 1.2 and u see bada 2 you'll say woooooow and ouch i cant have it. and that's why you are angry. bada 2 on wave make you angry and destroy your world because its has many things to offer and you are so hungry for it. hohohohohoohohohoho if you really angry throw your wave it will release u from pain but if yo cannot do that then keep ur wave and wait until it come heheheheheh
hieutran.vn, 27 Dec 2011I've used my Wave for 1 years, now I have a trouble with the camera that auto-focus can not be... moreHave u tried going back to default settings in camera? Or maybe check any camera app from store, if thats working fine or affected as well. Or have u flashed your f/w aftr which it all started? Have read on some forums abt wave camera issues. Google for that, u might find people who had faced similar issues n how they got that sorted out. Plus, there r secret dial codes for bada to check hardware functionalities. Use google. U will sort it out. Gud luck :) Hardware bug complaints r on most occasions r exaggerated due to panic, so take your time.

we understand that you sir are frustrated just as much as we are over the bada 2.0 delay...but please
posting something like that isnt an innocent post of frustation over a relevant issue such as the bada 2.0 delay anymore...your post sir is more like trolling...I hope we do not cross the line in terms of posting our opinion...and mocking a handset on a forum dedicated to its users such as this one.
and your posts doesn't really help in alleviating our current condition now does it?
I've used my Wave for 1 years, now I have a trouble with the camera that auto-focus can not be exactly.
Please help me to correct its fault.
Checking samsungapps for any new n decent free theme. Lol, these waves are shame on the name of "smart"phones. Nothing smart in bada crap.
Samsung OS Bada is really the waste mobile which samsung has given the birth, except its out look nothing is good, google created en number of apps to android world, but samsung Bada has not even created the VIDEO downlaoder or SKYPe, except the useless apps its not carrying ny worthy apps, so guys never even think of going BADA OS, for every now n den firmware updation is asking for this u need to shed 120/- in service center to upgrade firmware, its daylight robbery from samsung developers, switch to android any phones and enjoy the moment for shedding small amount, WAVE S8500 is useless OS...
My Wave 1 is really a top phone, still cannot find a better one at the moment considering speed, size, battery, camera, loudness...
LEGEND...wait for it ...DARY !!!
But if you want absolutely a smartphone, go for Android.
Waiting for the coming android Sony phones next year to consider changing my beloved Wave 1.
hmm another sad example of samsung being samsung
even though galaxy s can clearly handle it:
I guess we are kinda a bit better off as we are getting an update...though it has been delayed yet again....
Hey Samsung. Better fix this.
Kies displayed a message that an update is available for the Samsung Apps to work. I click OK, Yes, and all then got this cr*p: "The internet is not connected...."
My internet is working just fine.
a friend I know wants to buy my s8500 for about $175 usd...
should I sell it? Is it a good price for the phone?
anyhow, I think this is a good read about what may be the reason on why bada 2.0 is delayed....it seems patience may actually reap us something better if we wait for a bit longer in the official release of bada 2.0
