Greetings to all,
anyone know if this Wave II will replace the original Samsung S8500 Wave?
ie, Samsung will no longer manufacture the Wave I, since I read that they are having trouble supplying the demand for AMOLED displays.

You're talking about Samsung Kies, right?
It's been almost two months now, and no updates were available for my phone.
ic3rock, 07 Oct 2010The most important is, T9 Trace!!!Right. I forgot to mention that. :-)
[deleted post]I thought it was T9 Trace not Swype. SOme said T9 Trace is better than Swype.
[deleted post]How about m4a and m4b support levi? m4a audio files are better and smaller than mp3s. FLAC is bigger than a 320 kbps mp3.

try to toggle youre wave from cp uart to AP UART mode.
to do it, type *#8740# in your keypad, this will help you save battery. and try to change 3G to GPRS or 2G network settings, this will help you save battery as well. It works for my wave.
the query regarding the handset getting very hot and also calls being inaudible despite volume being max was posted by me. The battery also drains very quickly....plz help as to what to do...
i just bought a wave about 2 weeks back....it gets hot to the touch at the end of the day, without heavy use or playing songs or games. Is it normal for the phone to get hot like that? Its very very warm at the end of the day. Also, is the volume less when ppl call? i have put the vol on max yet find it difficult to hear anything when i receive calls....can anyone plz help? i need to know if the wave has these inherent probs or is it just with my handset?

Rizul sharma, 07 Oct 2010hey buddy um willing to pay even 19k 4 ths masterpiece bt after sm period value f wave ll spir... more@ Rizul sharma, if you're willing to pay 19k for it, then don't hesitate to go for the Wave simply because :
1. Super Amoled display which is the technology of the future. There is a shortage of S-Amoled displays & that's probably why Samsung have gone with the
SC-LCD for Wave II. Dont believe that Samsung have sold all the S-Amoled to Apple bcz that would be simply suicidal on Samsung's part. Would you destroy your own market share & help your rival ?
2. 1-ghz processor. Games run flawlessly on the Wave. It's the latest in the market & mid-range phones with 1-ghz processor is still about a year down the line.
3. 720p video recording, it will only become the norm for mobile phones by the end of next year. 1080p will only be a reality when the dual core processor is manufactured & will only be available on phones which are 30k+, becoming a norm only after atleast the nxt 2 years.
So, 3 good reasons why you should go for the Wave. You wont be buying some obsolete tech as is the case of Nokia phones as someone put it in a previous post "Nokia are always 2 steps behind".
If you wanna buy any other phone, I suggest you wait for the Nokia C6-01.
htc wildfire - sucks with the screen res & multimedia features are not htc strong pts. avg camera & crap video recording. the videos you put on the phone would look awful on the poor res screen.
nokia c6 - resistive screen, its's ancient so that just sums it up.
Galaxy 3 - plastic body & 3mp cam with no flash.
LG optimus - android 1.6 & resistive screen.
My wave suffered a 5ft fall today for the first time since i purchased, with touch panel facing the ground.my heart suffered a minor stroke seeing the back cover and battery being thrown out due to the impact. i thought that was the end of it,but fortunately, to my surprise, there was not a single scratch on the screen, let alone a crack. I cursed my friend who inflicted this on my wave.build quality is second to none, i can guarantee that, but the same cannot be said about the plastic used on the edges, i can see some faint scratches on it,but nevertheless it's robust
