ap uart- reduces the cpu performance
better battery life
cp uart increases cpu performance=lower battery life
I can attest to these as loading videos in ap uart is noticeably slower (divx files) compared to cp uart (which upon flashing my asian firmware seemingly defaulted to)
which theoretically why some seem to notice an increase in performance on bada 2.0 seems like in bada 2.0 cp uart is the default setting (also the default setting in bada 1.2 in some other firmwares like in euro)

battery life would probably be longer in "ap uart" mode hohohoho!"
In reply to the above statement --
U told exact opposite..
CPUART - battery saving mode
APUART - high-Performance mode
PS:- These modes are supposed to work as said. But nobody proved that practically.
i upgrade my wave to bada 2 and i can say that there are so many changes and i like the camera too much cos the camera focus is working great and i can shoot high quality photos and still i can install my games and i can play it also. the appearance is improve the phone is look professional and beautiful. i hope bada 2 come before end of this month or dec. so i can use it in its full power and ability and i cant take off my eyes on my wave. the more u wait the more u hate because u see to much interesting changes on your wave and even you hate ur wave deep inside ur heart u love it to much hahhaha. so to ease your heart i recomend to flash ur wave using multiloder in badaforums.net hehehehe. i do these to make my self calm while waiting for bada 2. try on your own risk. im also a beginner on flashing wave using multiloder. but it makes me happy. wait and wait until u die hehehe.wait for bada hehehe. cos it will break ur heart.
mahmud, 29 Nov 2011Can i play 720p mp4 or divX format? And what about charging capacity? Pls reply anyone.thanks ... moresir mahmud- its one of the few phones that can play divx and xvid without need of any applications.....it can play it at hd quality too!
as for the battery charge, I just watched a two hour film (transformers dark of the moon) and my battery was still at 75% from a full battery load, aside from the few calls and texts I made and 20 minutes of fruit ninja hohoho!

dear sir juggler-where on earth did you get that news that the camera sucks?
wave's video recorder is very good take a look at the video sample of s8500 vs iphone video test sample on youtube
wave actually pawned n8 in the video recording department again please look at youtube "s8500 vs n8 video test"
now both n8 and iphone4 are considered to be one of the best 720p recorders and yet wave actually surpassed them.
and all of the S.E 720p video recordings have this pinkish spot on the center and somewhat lower framerate compared to the 30fps of wave in the video dept making wave the true king of 720p heheheh! The only s.e. handset that I found to not have this pinkish spot is the x10 in 720p hohoho but has lower video framerate compared to the ray and arc
the only downside with wave was that it could not record macro videos compared to iphone4 and the Sony ericsson handsets such as xperia arc,arc S, x10
because wave doesnt have the autofocus nor touch focus enabled in video recording
which is about to be remedied care of bada 2.0
now I some people seem to think that the still imaging of wave has somewhat washed out colors
but compared to other phones I found that using the "scene settings" in wave makes a whole lot of difference
wave is very particular in the scene settings if you want to enjoy the most out of the still camera
it can produce great pictures too ^_^
one of the best 5mp still cameras around if you know which setting to use
as a phone wave has all the features one would expect in a top tier phone hence the voting results here in gsmarena
last week wave was top 2 in overall score second to the galaxy S2 now it's on top 3 because of the increasing popularity of optimus net(which is a great phone too btw) but for the wave's case its not bad considering wave is the one of the older phones on the top 10 spot ^_^
wave is fast, stable, reliable and has all the features one could wish for, only thing it needs are new apps specially on the gaming dept.
which hopefully will be remedied come bada 2.0 ^_^
hope all help me .... i wanna get this mob i love it look awesome but ppl say cam sux when u use it for long and i must get galaxt ace coz Android best .. and say don't buy any nokia ... i need mob don't lag and fast and have good screen like wave Super AMOLED and have good cam ... all my work in mob is browsing the internet and chat with friends and music and take some pix

and have problem in cam after long time or this fake

"Why is everybody anticipating so much the upgrade to Bada 2.0 ?"
I really don't know... the phone already had many upgrades via Kies and is now perfect (Good job from Samsung for regularly upgrading it)
I suppose people posting here are phones geeks who are never happy and always want something new.
abo, 29 Nov 2011how soon is that?hmm that is the ultimate question though....hohoho
giving samsung a little leeway perhaps this december hopefully before christmas we would get to see our bada handsets evolve hihihi
otherwise.....no other ways but to flash the phone hohohoho
in my case it seems I finally found the perfect s8500 dxke1 bada 1.2 as I'm not having any restarts recently
Im not yet going to flash the phone to bada 2.0 because of fear that my one time purchase application might not work on 2.0 hehehehehe ^^
Wow! Thank you so much for all your responses you excellent lot of mobile phone gurus! Well, it seems (short of the disappointment of the use of bada) this is a great phone!! I had a chance to take a peek at the samsung apps website, and I must say, it looks like there is some fun to be had with those apps?! e.g. I like doing the 'theme' thing, and there seemed like plenty of those on offer! Has anyone tried using the apps? - do they work ok? Is this why everyone is anticipating the bada 2.0 upgrade so much?
the best 720p video recorder....JUST GOT EVEN BETTER
now touch focus is available for the s8500 with bada 2.0!
now samsung wave s8500 is like ACHILLES......with an armored heel ^_^
just recently read the news here at GSM ARENA that wave 3 is officially out in the stores!!!
Which could only mean 1 thing...
BADA 2.0 is going to be officially released via kies for our s8500 very soon! HOHOHOHOHO!
we know that s8500 is one of the best out there in terms of its long lasting battery life performance
but for those who want more out of their batteries this site is an awesome source of info on how to improve the phone's battery life hohoho!
