Blue, 17 Aug 2010Though its a very good phone but its only little customizable, this i can say as there are onl... moreHey, guys! I can't seem to keep up with the posts, been a bit busy, sorry I might not have been able to receive or read some of your messages...
Anyway, to Blue, I sympathize with you regarding the options...but only in terms of not yet being very intuitive. The Wave is one phone that has more surprises than help menus. It's the only phone wherein I had to really go through the manual...and even that wasn't enough. I use the search bar in this section of gsmarena so much just to figure out how to do stuff. This phone really has capabilities that are seem to be hidden at first. But once you figure it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised and glad you didn't shell out so much for other phones that have less capabilities.
I've used symbian s60, symbian uiq3, iOS, WinMo, and I have to say that, even in its infancy, Bada is more capable (I have yet to own an android phone, but those in the Wave's price range has more issues than the Wave--try a search in their respective forums if you don't believe me).
Re your Wave concerns:
You CAN save contacts to card ("..." >"Save in My Files". You'll find them as .vcf files in the "Others" folder)
No phone is capable though of transferring all of them together to memcard, only to simcard, which the Wave can very well do. BUT bulk transfer IS possible in the Wave through Kies, that's how I transferred 992 contacts from my Nokia E52 in less than a couple of minutes (You'd need to save through Nokia Suite first.) If you already had the contacts in your memcard, you just had to select those and they'd be registered into the Contacts of Wave (My Files>Navigate to folder with the .vcf files ). You can also simply sync Contacts through Outlook, a sync server, or even through friends lists in your SNS account (one of the first phones to do this right out of the box).
Not being hot-swappable> I think this a small price to pay for the other features, I also think of it as an iPhone (which you can't take the memory out of at all) situation, but with a replaceable battery. (That would make iPhone4 ancient then if non-hotswappable is old) :D
Disabling autolock: Settings>General>Touch>Touch panel auto-lock (tap to grey if it's green)
Predictive text: In keyboard, tap and hold language key (globe icon beside spacebar). From there, you can switch to keypad (T9 is on the 0) or to handwriting recognition (in either full screen or writing box, which I find better than any PDA, a first for capacitive screens/non-stylus handwriting! And you don't need to "train" the screen)
If you think Wave customization is limited, check out what Wave owners have been doing to their units through mysamsungwave-dot-com, badaforums-dot-net, etc. Here's a video sample of some of my own homescreens:

Also, Wave has the best and most options in terms of an Address Book. Activate and synchronize your SNS (tweeter, facebook, etc) contacts with the Wave and you'll see what I mean.
I know Samsung left a lot of instructions out (GPS seemed like a throwaway feature until I found out about syncing free maps first through the Route66 Sync program that you had to download through the internet yourself. None of the literature from Samsung said anything about this). But I can guarantee you it leaves other, more expensive, smartphones in the dust once you get to know it better. That's what we have forums for. :D
Good luck and don't forget to use the search bar above! =D

aashin, 17 Aug 2010bought wave yesterday but everytime i play music with headphones on ,it freezes after sometime... moreI think you have not plugged the head phone correctly. Once it correctly adopted, the gold color pin of the head phone should be entirely invisible. You have to push the headphone little hard. I also had the same problem. But as the phone was new I was also scared to push it hard. But we have to.

I want to install the new Asphalt5 HD in my wave, but got a few questions
1.It says to install in the memory card in the site.,is the memory card fast enough to handle this, coz the memory card I have is the one that came with the package(2GB,India), and the class is not mentioned.
2.What about the one old Asphalt5?Does it get deleted or somthing? and where is it installed?
