WaveR, 02 Jul 2010So out of the thousands who've already purchased a Wave and out of the possible on stock units... moreYes, waver, I have eyes and i can actually SEE a faulty screen. Isn't that amazing? Or maybe I should have stayed and looked at the stripes on the screen feeling lucky that I have such an amazing device...wow...you guys make my day... :)
Disabling the antivirus and firewall is not enough. You shoul also make sure there is a full moon and that you press ctrl+alt+home+escape for 19 minutes (keep looking at the moon all this time). if you are lucky, wave will connect to kies and the name of the person you love will appear on the wall. remember, keeping your eyes at the moon is the key. I love Samsung, it makes things soooo easy.
S8500_problem, 02 Jul 2010Guess what...the shop acknowledged the screen being faulty. looks like this is the second unit... moreSo out of the thousands who've already purchased a Wave and out of the possible on stock units already on display in stores right now, you're the only one complaining of receiving a "faulty" screen with your Wave unit. My how unfortunate. Sucks to be you.
Also re: YouTube app, it plays fine, except for a few lags now and then. I think it may have something to do with your connection. Is it on wifi?
does anyone able to play the youtube mobile or desktop version coz i cant, tried many times but failed, try again always comes out after pressing play video.need help. thanks.over all wave is great.
ABC Teaser..., 02 Jul 2010sadly for people who lie, this is a way to speak, what you peaked as a fault for this phone it... moreGuess what...the shop acknowledged the screen being faulty. looks like this is the second unit reporting this problem at the same shop. got a full refund because there were no units in stock (units came from Germany). I can e-mail the refund invoice to whoever is interested in seeing who the joker is on this forum.
Why won't kies offer to upgrade my firmware? It is now XXJF1, I hear there are JF2 and JF4 to look for... And it has worked before, the phone didn't ship with JF1.
switching off the anti-virus really helped a lot for effective working of kies
KidzNia, 02 Jul 2010Burs, I have no problems viewing powerpoint. It is just slide by slide (no transition, animati... moreInteresting.... then I'll try to check a few more powerpoint files, but it's really weired it couldn't load any of the previous ones. Now I see on Picsel's site (app that runs all office format files on Wave), they say that not all of the powerpoint features are supported on a mobile version. Maybe I was just that lucky that all of my powerpoint presentations used a feature that was not supported, so it couldn't load a file at all. I'll investigate into this a bit more...
This is a great phone I really want to buy this one but I still don't have the money and I will buy this after a month or two so that the phone issues will be fixed by Samsung and I will surely get the version with no or less problems.
For all you guys who r having problems with Kies connectivity with the phone....do one thing...first DISABLE THE ANTI VIRUS AND FIREWALL program on your computer then run Kies and connect your phone...now there is NO PROBLEM....
the software has some issues with the firewall programs' settings so the phone doesn't connect correctly.... Samsung should address the problem soon.....
i'm amazed by the little fanboys of some crappy phones that says that the wave is not bright enough even though the wave's screen is it's selling point.. every people who sees the wave for the first time always comment about the screen, i mean everyone, every single one of them, even people who are not Samsung fans are still amazed by crisp of it's screen..
i even tried to play a video on the wave, place the phone a couple of feet away from me, and i can still see what's happening on the video, unlike on other phones, it's already blurred..
sam, 02 Jul 2010battery will become ok after few uses/recharges. dont worry.Agreed. Your battery will be fully conditioned after a few more days.
For the first few charges, my battery run down almost in a day (dropping nearly 2 - 3% per hours of non-usage)
After a week, it is at least more decent now. Lasting from 2.5 to 3days of lite/moderate usage (battery drop ~1% every hours)

To AITOAMI + Others, 02 Jul 2010You all seem to be a bunch of naive phone users. I bet youve never tested nor reported bugs fo... moreYou're addressing a company who's a market leader in amoled and lcd technology. Who's naive again? I'm sure Samsung knows what they're doing pal, move along.
ABC Teaser, 02 Jul 2010You can't edit with Samsung and everyone knows that, please read previous post, but why would ... moreHow did you get your Wave to start Powerpoint presentations? I tried like 10 different .pps files, and none of them are working on the Wave. Word, Exel, PDF, Shochwave Flash are working though, but SWF files have some audio synch problems. Maybe it's due to the flash files (either though they play fine on my PC), but I think that Wave doesn't support them well. Also it's very picky about audio/video codecs, some videos play and some don't, either though they are encoded with the same codecs. Also 5.1 sound is supported through stereo headphones, but when watching HD video with 5.1 sound - there's no sound at all (says audio codec not supported). To make things even worse, a very few PC desktop apps detect and convert 5.1 sound correctly, so I had a very bad day figuring all that out and converting all of my best videos so that Wave can play them (with simple stereo sound). Putting all that aside, it's a great phone anyway. I would buy it again.
