rajkej, 11 Jun 2011hey shruti help me - if u hv any solution for my probs hw to update samsung aps applicati... morebetter u hard reset ur wave! a hard reset takes it back to the condition U got it out of the box. Backup ur data before hard reset. Copy ur phonebook with Kies 1st. It'll backup all your contacts, & then it is easy to transfer them back. to hard reset ur phone do the following...

1. Turn off the phone

2. Take the SIM-card out

3. Turn the phone on again

4. Write *2767*3855#

5. Afterwards this process, which can take a while, things should be back to factory reset (You will get back Asphalt if that was on the phone from start etc.)

6. Put in the SIM-card again

7. DONE

I did little reserch on how much ram memory do WAVE S8500 have and based on this video of android 2.2.1 Froyo by XDA DEV, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjqvI9fcSak&feature=channel_video_title , wich shows that 212MB RAM is available after booting android Froyo . Officially we know that android Froyo (on Galaxy S , given that the softwere is the same as Galaxy S) takes exactly 300MB of RAM to boot . That answer the bigest question about Samsung Wave . Build on RAM memory is 512MB .

You know what, I have been using this phone from Aug-2010 and its battery never lasted more than 2.5 days in any sort of use. Normally I charge it daily.

Can anyone explain me what is that MODERATE/HEAVY use???

your battery life looks funny to me.
do you use your phone or simply posting your standby times???

I listen music for 1 hour, around 150 texts, 15 min Games and 45 min of voice calls, my phone lasts 1 day that's it and is enough for me.

Samsung should consider making another nice little phone like the S8500. This handset is almost perfect already! Customers like me need a good alternative to these huge, encumbrant 4'+ phones...

Give us a new wave with 3.3' - 3.5' super amoled + display, aluminium unibody, 8mp shooter, 1080p recording, etc; running on the latest android version...

Such a handset would be an instant hit!

i just wish we got metal gear solid games in this phone, or in other phone, the MGS in iphone is nogood, i like brother in arm and splinter cell, and it a shame that we can only have 120 icon ( games or apps) wish i can get more, i dunno what bada 2.0 will gonna be, wish it be much better then the old one, i dunno what samsung was thinking when they make a new OS, when someone want to make new os and succeed in it it must be different from the other and be better too, but bada is like the other os, it doesnt have something shining on it, and again for samsung if u want to people choose ur OS u should make something different, and we wish bada 2.0 will be different if not i dont think people will choose bada anymore, it s a good move to sell not expensive phone (wave) but people look at the OS too, samsung has to learn from their mistakes. anyway wave is a good mobile.

My short Review on Wave @ 1 year old plus:

*camera is good
*camera shutter is so small, needs to press hard
*video is all fantastic, 720p, taking and watching HD
videos, video player, 5.1 ch, DnSE, Divx & etc are
really great..
*Audio in headphone is among the best, very loud too
Walkman, ipod and other dedicated mp3 players are
redundant.
*Loudspeaker is just ok but no stereo speakers.
That's why "5.1 Channel" and "bass enhancement"
features will not take effect without using a
headphone.
*Hardware is top notch, aluminum metal with very hard
plastic(shiny plastic is not so good to me). Dropped
5 times with very minimal scratches. Real gorilla on
display, no scratch and damages.
*Display is marvelous, Super AMOLED wins with a split
decision. Best experience using under sunlight &
viewing angle is very good too.
*3.3" display is more pocket friendly specially on
tight jeans & best for 1 hand operation(compared to
3.5" & up). But I prefer bigger display.
*Earpiece volume is loud, can increase the maximum
volume using the administrative settings. No need to
use headphone in noisy environment during calls.
*Bada OS is Simple but very Fast on Wave. Single core 1 GB processor is a nice tandem.
*Battery charging interval is a champion for a
smartphone (2.5 to 4 days: heavy to moderate use)
*Samsung Apps are not plenty but just enough & very
useful
*OS update is taken for granted or not fair but Bada
OS 1.0 is still doing great as of the moment.
*Web browser is good and fast but 3.3" display is not
preferable.
*Email is ok
*Vibration is harmless I mean weak
*GPS is not best on Wave and no lifetime GPS.
*Wave is good for HD games, fast and very crisp.

Overall Wave1 deserved to be the no.1 by Rate in GSMarena for 10 consecutive months and currently 2nd to Samsung Galaxy S2 still (for a 2010 model).

Vickster, 07 Jun 2011Can anyone advise, it's a choice between this, Nokia X6 or Nokia N95, isthis the better phone...There's no point to compare Wave1 to X6 and N95.
This beauty is far better in most areas than those Nokia phones you mentioned.

Sorry that's the reality I've known.

Wadebrosh, 05 Jun 2011After 1 year and 5 days use, my battery drains fast. Have you experience on this? Ohh sorry to let others think that battery life of Wave shortens after using 1 year plus years.

Now is going back to normal, my wave battery life is doing great.....
