Is it necessary to have a Screen Guard for the Wave II.
I haven't yet removed the layer which comes along with the new phone... Just afraid of the scratches on the screen. Is the screen protector advantageous or disadvantageous on a touch screen ?
Searched in Google and have different opinions about the Screen guard for Wave..
Do let me know where can I get the screen protector in India or Bangalore for Wave II.
Got this beauty today and this is my first touch screen phone and the costliest phone I have got till today....
The price is reasonably fair (Rs. 18,535) becoz there were rumors that the price would be around 22-24 K.
Sound is superb... The 5.1 surround is amazing...
Talking about the S-LCD and S-AMOLED... I don't care much about this... Wave 8500 is something which is no more... No point in talking about something which doesn't exist any more.. I assume Samsung is not a dumb company to keep fire under its own ass.. Appreciate Samsung for being fair in the price of Wave II.
The mobile gets charged even from USB Cable... So, even if people say Wave II battery drains out quickly than Wave I, it doesn't matter much to me...
Last but not the least... May Wave 8500 soul rest in peace... If some are still looking for Wave I 8500, they can order it from Amazon.com, but not sure how much the international delivery prices can cost you after the import duties and taxes..

When i enquired in univercell, they said, its not yet released in the market and it will take 2 more weeks for Wave II to arrive.. What a pity on Univercell for their delayed updates on Rocking products...

I Just got the Samsung S8530 Wave II at 18,500 in a store including all the tax or what ever it is..
Would suggest you to enquire in couple of stores and buy it instead of online..
I really don't get it.Just because the change in screen this phone became all bad and wave I is superior. Its just a friggin' screen!Every thing else is just the same.So if you say Wave II is bad then you mean Wave I is bad too.And the people complaining about its high price surely go and buy a Nokia 1100, they deserve that only. Who else gives you such a large display with 16M colors and 480x800 pixels, a 1Ghz processor and outstanding audio quality.5MP autofocus camera with autofocus and led flash?
vere vere band modal flope model now bettar model galaxy s is best model
The online price of Wave II is Rs.19,000. It seems this phone is excessively priced. The Nokia C7 with almost the same features is available for Rs.18,000. Even the original wave was available at Rs.17,000. So think twice before buyng!
Wave 2 is released in India last week.
Company price is Rs. 18,999 (19k)
The main advantage of Wave 8500 is its screen, long talk time, slim design.
The Wave II is much different from the original one. It is not Amoled. So judge Wave II on its own merits.Don't buy it basing on original wave's popularity and performance. Why should we buy this phone when Android phones are available for much cheaper price. The BADA is not growing up well.
I think it should priced at Rs.15,000-16,000 in India basing on the features and OS.
Guys what is the use of comparing two waves when samsung wave s8500 is not in production! wave 1 was out of stock 4months back!
please update us the hands on experience about wave 2.
I used S8500 and I must say it was a good device with it's S-amoled display. However 3.3'' is not large enough to watch media on it even you have a super super display. So I have just bought S-8530 (display is 3.7'').
even Wave-2 (S-8530) has a large display then the wave-1, I should say super clear LCD is not good enough super amoled. ın the S-clear lcd the colors are something different; i may say colors are not shown natural. Also the contrast in s-clear lcd is not ok for me, after i saw super amoled. but sound and functionality of Wave-2 is better and one.
Guyz..END to all debate...watch this video..superamoled is the clear winner
colette, 25 Dec 2010Wave II is better, hands down!!! :)I'm sorry, why did I typed "II"? I was supposed to write the original Wave is better. There!
Guyz check this video....comparison between the two waves...luks like super clear lcd is not that bad..
The plus point of Original wave 8500 is its screen and long talk time, slim design etc.
why should we prefer Wave II when it is much different from the original one. And it is not Amoled.
So judge Wave II on its own merits. Don't buy it basing on original wave I performance.
I think it should cost Rs.15,000 in India basing on the features and OS.
