Samsung Tizen

Samsung has said they have plans to make available Tizen OS-powered phones globally. The South Korean company made the revelation at its ongoing Tizen Developer Conference 2017 in San Francisco.

Tizen phones "will be available to all countries in the world eventually," the firm said.

Currently, Tizen phones are only available in a handful of markets such as India, some other South East Asian countries, and Africa.

In India, where it made its debut in the year 2015, the tech giant's home grown OS is performing really well. Samsung revealed sales of phones powered by Tizen were up 30% in 2016, while the figure jumped to 100% this year so far.

The company has also promised that by the end of 2017, the number of Tizen apps will see a ten-fold increase compared to last year.

That's great news. Tizen needs more exposure but according to the chart, they are still only expanding to developing countries. When are some of the established/developed countries getting a taste of Tizen?
