To o2 worker,
Where are you buying that from? From a phone retailer e.g. 02 shop? I've checked the prices, the phone is around £250 sim free.
does anyone know how much the samsung D800 is?
d900 is 199.99 an the u600 is 209.99 thats full price but the u600 is a much better handset my frends has one an loves it an am gettin one tomor
Hi all, can anyone help....there is a key management function in the settings option of the menu. does anyone know what this is? it was on my last phon also and i didnt know then! i cant find anything to explain what it is in either the manuals or on the net! help guys!
look at the battery, 690 mah
I can't give you a definite yes or no answer to whether you should buy this phone. I have only had it for one day so am still in the process of making up my mind. However, so far so good. I suggest you go to any mobile shop and ask to see a working model. That way you can get your own 'hands on' experience.
Should i buy this phone? I ahve the Nokia N70 at the moment and have been very dissapointed iwth it. I was very happy with the E720 before that. Is this the right phone to go for?
this is the first slider i have had. i've always been a fan of traditional candy bar phones... must admit there isnt particularly anywhere to push the phone up other than placing a big thumb print in the middle of the screen. The keys are quite touch sensitive. Not overly but then that may just be me? The one thing I keep doing, is pressing the touch sensitive Phone down/C button when using the Right button on the Central nav key. Annoying as I keep coming back to the main screen when i'm in the middle of a message or menu. lol. Again though, guess need to adapt how you hold the phone?
Another fashionable decoration from Samsung. Almost nothing more. Really disappointing having in mind that Samsung is not a girly brand.
And I'm saying it as a owner of Samsung x700. The bottons are awful - hard to press, REALLY small and unpleasend. Just nice design. Nothing really special.
It's not about how many funcions your mobile have on paper, but how many of the are so nice elaborated to be used every day. In case of my X700 I'm using only call function, becouse sms is hard... :) Sometimes listen mp3 through the loudspeaker, but it is nothing special again...
my screen is awful, i had the d800 before and there was a slight raised part of the phone which was good for sliding! i might purchase the cleaner which i think comes with the lg chocolate. also, how sensitive are your soft keys? mine are very at the moment. takes a bit of getting used to
yeh samsungs don't appear to be as customisable as other brands. still, it is a nice phone and will soon get used to it. the setup is actually very similar to my old w810i so it's not all bad. am sure the spring mechanism will become easier to slide once it has become worn in. My screen is flithy already and only after 1 day!
its quite annoying that the soft keys cant be changed. there is a slight wobble when the phone is in idle mode but none other than that. also, i sometimes find it difficult to slide the phone up aswell....would be better if there was a screen cleaner with the phone as the screen gets quite mucky!
I don't think they are different. Mine is exactly the same. I don't think that these can be changed... Are you experiencing the 'wobble'?
hey, can anyone help me? i got this fone yesterday. i am quite pleased with it but the two soft key buttons are different to everyone elses i think! i have contacts on the left soft key and o2 active on the right. the only way i can access the menu is by pressing the (i) button or going through contacts and going back. does anyone know if these soft keys can be changed??
cheers guys!
Yes you can assign a personal ringtone You can also assign a personal messaging (sms) tone to. Probably more that one way to do it, but the way iu found yesterday was:
Go to My Files
Locate the song/tone etc.
Select Options
Then choose the option Set as - Caller Ringtone. Then choose the caller you wish to assign the tone to.
All in all a very nice phone, coming from an ericsson struggling a little bit with the menu system. ericsson seem to be better when creating manual shortcuts and also the ability to create profiles like nokia.
I do like this phone but the one main drawback I think is that when the slider is out, the top half wobbles somewhat. Not a massive downside but it is slightly annoying and makes the phone appear to be 'cheap' although its looks are saying otherwise. I had heard the cause of this is that the metal guiding plate used in the D600 has been removed to make the phone thinner... However, this is the first Samsung I have owned (previous Nokia and Sony Ericsson customer) so I can not state if this is true.
Can someone please post some full resolution images taken with the phone camera? Both outdoors and indoors would be nice.
Thanks.
This phone is fab! Took a bit of getting used to the sensitive keys but got there in the end. Question: does anyone know if I can apply a specific ringtone to a specific person calling me? If so, how do I do it? Thanks
