Thank you to all of those who replied to the "gmask" query. I just hope the gmask does not take away the gorgeous look (ok, drop-dead-gorgeous look) of this phone. :)

My u700 is synching fine, but the data on the phone does not follow the time sequence. For example if I have a 11am appointment and another one at 1pm, the 1pm comes first rather than the 11am.Have set up GMT time zone +2 on both my pC and phone but still the same problem.Anybody?

Hey guys! Just upgraded my phone to asian u708 firmware and can now assign mp3 as msg alert tone... The thing is that, the installation (u708) added some movies and wallpapers
which i don't really need and they are marked as sys file.

Anybody know how to delete these (sys) files?
Please help.

To JIN MADERA,

I recommend www.gamemobile.co.uk for games. It's quite cheap and you get credits for purchases. I've already installed six games on my U700 and looking to buy more! :-)

To Mahmoud Ali, I would suggest visiting www.gamemobile.co.uk if you want games, ringtones and wallpapers. I think (at least I hope!) that they'll be providing applications for this phone soon too.

By the way, does anyone know how to set a default tone for the calender reminders? Instead of having to change the set default that was pre-installed?

I got my sexy Samsung U700 three months ago.Now I hate it.It's peeling off and now it looks like its ten years old.If you are thinking obout getting one DONT.This will be the biggest mistake.Samsung has no pitty on us users.Take a look at hellopeter.com and see how many complaints there is.You can see for youself. If you own a U700 well your trouble will still come.

@u700 What is "Gmask"? Somebody mentioned that this service is available at Gateway, where in Gateway? Are there any other places that offer the "Gmask" service? Thanks

im guessing the peeling thing would be the paint job. so as in the silver coating thats all over the phone- they must mean it scratches/peels off easily

I went to switch on my phone this morning and it won't switch on at all - the touch screen keys light up and remain like that and it won't switch off either. It's practically new - I've only had it for 1 month. Has this happned to anyone?

u700dxgk1 my sw version

i am a nokia user for a long time and a SE user also, i agree that nokia phones are user friendly and SE phones are feature packed, they all have their strengths samsungs strength is in its slimness and the way it shouts elegance when you are holding a u700

I've had this phone in the U.S. for about a week now. Popped in my T-Mobile SIM card and got a program from T-mobiles webesite so that I can get and send picture messages. Internet function does not work here in the U.S. since it's a U.K. based program. No biggie.
As for the phone, it's not great for U.S. customers. It looks awesome, dont get me wrong, but the slide mechanism could use a heavier spring, because instead of popping up or down, it just kinda goes as long as you push it. For an "Elite Series" phone, I'd expect it to be flawless. My T-619 was a great slider. The 'send' and 'end/c' keys are easily pressed when resting the phone against shoulder, and have hung up on a couple people accidently which is kinda annoying. Camera is great, as is screen clarity. Also, texting is not as convenient as U.S. based phones. Takes a few more steps just to send a text which gets tiring. I'm going to give the phone another few weeks, but if I don't get any more used to it, it's going back up for sale!
Hope this helps!

Brent
